Pizza Hut Customer Service Representative:   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

It will definitely introduce a person to the world of customer service. This is probably an easy place to start a career in customer service. They do encourage CSR's to meet goals such as providing good customer service.

Cons

The management is one of the many downsides to working at this place. Solely because the management hired saw his employees as incompetent no good people. Hence, employees no longer cared for their job or the establishment itself. Also, the customer database isn't so great because my store was one of the few Pizza Hut establishments located in an area of very frugal people, therefore it was nearly impossible to meet goals of upselling or even sell without a coupon.

Advice to Senior Management

Definitely set better standards to hire better management. Be more organized in running the store. Setting goals and offering rewards is a good way to encourage CSR's and all employees to try harder doing their work.

Pizza Hut Delivery Driver in Little Rock, AR:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

Very laid back, understanding of schedules and time off requests, extra cash daily, driver incentives.

Cons

Greasy, low compensation for driving compared to other delivery companies, unsteady sales, delivers to high crime areas.

Advice to Senior Management

Raise your pay for drivers, it's not fair to be paid half as less for a run as compared to other pizza places.

Pizza Hut Cook:   (Past Employee - 2009)

Pros

- the food was great to eat during breaks
- the fast-paced environment made shifts go quickly
- easy to request off

Cons

- you smell after you leave work
- mostly high-school students working there
- stressful, like any food related place

Advice to Senior Management

- encourage your workers and tell them when they are performing well
- don't have favorites (or if you do, don't show it)

Pizza Hut Delivery Driver in Johnson City, TN:   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

More business than many other pizza franchises meaning more deliveries. They pay minimum wage plus $1.10 for every delivery. There were also some good looking girls that worked at my location!

Cons

Sometimes I would accidentally be sent to the wrong address in a sketch area of town. There were too many drivers working at one time. Be careful and make sure that your auto insurance covers you while you are out delivering. Pizza Hut will most definitely not have your back if you were to get into an accident while delivering. This is why I quit.

Advice to Senior Management

Be upfront with workers about insurance for drivers. Let the drivers know that they will have to obtain their own insurance. They were not very upfront about the insurance issue.

Pizza Hut Waitress in Greencastle, IN:   (Current Employee)

Pros

at your particular store. Some were wonderful, some were awful. The ones that were great to work with were supportive and helpful. The rest clearly did not want to do their jobs and could get away with it because the teenagers working at the store didn't want to "tattle" on them.

Cons

Upper management usually was really really bad. Clearly they had not been working directly with customers for years, giving us bad advice, criticizing things that made customers happy and suggesting things that customers don't like or don't matter to them.

Advice to Senior Management

Be careful who you promote through management school. If they aren't hard workers, or will change when they come into a position of power, don't waste everyone's time.

Pizza Hut Delivery Driver in Stevens Point, WI:   (Current Employee)

good overall

Pros

Flexible hours for a college student working part time. Good team environment. Adequate training as needed. Tips are a nice perk.

Cons

Can get a little stressful during busy shifts. Overloaded phones and not enough staff to keep up with answering can be a problem.

Advice to Senior Management

A wage increase to cover driver's expenses for insurance and gas would be helpful, or even just a supplement during periods of peaking gas prices.

Pizza Hut Restaurant General Manager:   (Current Employee)

Pros

401k, great benefits, ample job promotions available, scholorships for yourself and all your dependents, fairly flexible schedule in many positions

Cons

lots of rules and regulations concerning every little thing, management gets moved around (promoted, demoted, fired, transferred) alot so constantly having to get used to having new bosses, some management personnel are not qualified for their positions

Advice to Senior Management

Managers of stores should have more empowerment over their own stores and schedules. Menu items change too often. Tools necessary to get the job done have always been made available. Thanks for that.

Pizza Hut Anonymous:   (Current Employee)

Pros

Company gives you good control over employees and finances as long as you can control you P+L and get good customer feedback.

Cons

If you are not hitting your controls then be ready for AC's and RC's to step in and really try and take over the store.

Advice to Senior Management

Let the RGM's have more control over the stores with less 1on1's and please STOP having a new product every other month and lets look more at how to drive great customer service instead.

Pizza Hut Anonymous:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

Fun atomosphere, good place to learn team building. Always a good mix of different kinds of people. Relatively easy to move up in management ladder.

Cons

Managers always underqualified and not degreed. Compensation definitely not worth the amount of hoops jumped through and hours put in.

Advice to Senior Management

Hire more qualified people in upper management. It's hard to respect those above you when they continuously under perform and don't understand management basics.
