    Pros

I had a great boss, but they are run by different people so I imagine that can change. I felt the pay was fair, raises happened and commission was attainable. The owner gave constructive feedback and made everyone feel like they were a part of the business.

    Cons

I really don't have 20 bad words to say about it. The work was hard at times, physically, but it's what the business is. You have to deal with occasionally dirty or stinky sporting goods, but it's also part of the business. There was no paid time off, but it was a part time position and if you could get coverage you were good.

    Pros

Job is relatively fun. You get to enjoy a wealth of responsibilities. If you like sports its a great place to work.

    Cons

No advancement opportunities whatsoever. The owners are terrible at what they do (differs from store to store because it is a franchise).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up. Offer advancement and raises, not lies.

-No career opportunities; again, I expected that

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

ADVERTISE! Spread the word about this place, no one I talked to has ever heard of PIAS.

    Pros

Customers are great, and it's rewarding to work with and save families money.

    Cons

Low pay, poor work conditions, lack of appreciation and recognition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your act together, and create universal standards for your stores. Many stores are complete under achievers from a profitability stand point due to a lack of leadership from the top.

    Pros

Good atmosphere. Employees get along well. Get to talk about sports all day. Get to try out all the equipment.

    Cons

Poor management. Not many customers come in. Because of this, there is a lot of dead time. Low pay with little chance of a raise or promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stick to the policy that we only buy "quality gently used" sporting goods. We buy too much garbage and we lose money on everything we can't resell.

    Pros

Get to work around sporting equipment, a lot of leeway to sell, typical retail job but a lot more responsibility of running a small store.

    Cons

All the cons that come with retail, depends on store owner because they are franchised.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Implement better marketing strategies.
