Former Employee – worked at Plexus Corp. full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Wonderful culture of accountability. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Plexus. Upper management provides individuals with autonomy to run their organizations with minimal oversight provided. I appreciated the direct communication and standards the executives held the staff to in all interactions.
Cons – Limited opportunities. The company is relatively small and there are only so many slots as you move up the pyramid. Plexus works to keep their good folks engaged but, there is only so much they can do at their size.
Advice to Senior Management – Organic growth was the champion of the past it might be time to look at acquisitions for new revenue channels and to spur further growth. I would not acquire to grow revenue but to grow service offerings which will in toe grow revenue.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at Plexus Corp. full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Paid fairly well for Fox Valley. It started out as a good company but is spiraling down fast.
Cons – HR is more of a social committee than a resource. Pretty much useless. Promotions are hard to come by. Benefits more expensive every year, cover less. Very into 'doing more with less' at the expense of their employees. They expect 24/7 but don't want to pay for the phone and have taken any payouts for meeting goals from employees and kept them for upper management. More layoffs coming but they won't give employees notice.
Advice to Senior Management – There is no empowerment for the individual manager.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Plexus Corp. full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good career development. They recognize their valued employees and seem to compensate them accordingly. If you are looking for opportunities to lead, you can find them here. The engineering/product development work is dynamic and has large variety.
Cons – Due to the overall size of the corporation, changes can be slow moving. The management overall is quite conservative, which is good for stability the drawback is they aren't very progressive in their philosophy or business approach.

Current Employee – been working at Plexus Corp. full-time
Pros – Talented individuals throughout the organization, many of which are extremely dedicated.
Good processes and system in place.
Cons – Site management focused on record revenues by taking on new business, but refuses to acknowledge the need to grow support stuff accordingly. My crystal ball says that something is about to give! Too bad, I really enjoyed he environment before it lost its sense of balance.
Advice to Senior Management – Rationalize customer base to filter down to "wins" that are profitable and don't forget your most valuable assets, your people, in the process of growing the business.

Current Employee – been working at Plexus Corp. full-time
Pros – There are many very smart people at Plexus, many of whom pour their heart and soul into their work. These people are a joy to work with.
Cons – Severe cost cutting (layoffs) have left many groups, such as IT, very short-handed. It does not appear that this will be changing in the near future.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop worrying solely about the current stock price and focus on the 5, 10 and 20 year picture.

Former Employee – worked at Plexus Corp. full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Plexus will hire just about anyone for the production floor. If you really need a job and overtime. It is a good place for someone to start out of high school.
Cons – Often the production staff would come into work very negative because it didn't seem to matter how hard we worked. It was never enough in quantity or quality. The upper management really had no idea of the workings of the production floor.
Advice to Senior Management – Please hire supervisors who are "people" persons. The work environment would be so much less negative if there were more supervisors who would treat the production staff as if their input mattered.

Former Employee – worked at Plexus Corp. full-time
Pros – Great Engineers on personal and professional level & Culture (But both are eroding quickly)
Cons – Sub-Par pay
Sub-Par benefits (No bonus for engineers Average of 3% raises each year)
Sub-Par management (Management has low average of experience and little product development experience)
--
Management just permanently removed bonuses for engineers stating that it isn't the "Norm" for engineers to get bonuses!
Management completely discounts experienced engineers, and the career path of being only an engineer and not a manager.
Upper management is disconnected from mid level management and engineering, accountability has been lost for managers.
Advice to Senior Management – You've lost several great engineers over the past 6 months, pay attentions to the attrition before it's to late.
Stop letting manufacturing drive your decisions.

Former Employee – worked at Plexus Corp. full-time for less than a year
Pros – Can not find any good thing about this company. Sorry
Cons – As the title mentioned, Spent a lot money on the marketing and package the company. But, very pool management from the HQ to site, from CEO to site production supervisor. Particularly the San Jose (Fremont) site. There are large turn over rate, specially on the project / program management role. There are 9 PMs left in the past 2 years.
Advice to Senior Management – No advice to the management, they should know better than me as management.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
