    Pros

    Great people work at Plexus.

    Cons

Lack of career growth and opportunities. Stability is lacking because of the ups and downs in contract manufacturing. Also people are not held accountable for poor performance including quality metrics.

    Advice to Management

Develop your employees who care to do the job and desire advancement opportunities.

    Pros

Good company but they use a temp agency to hire many employees. They hire and fire based on demand and its constantly changing. Its manufacturing so you can move around a lot. My managers were all really nice and not a ton of pressure to perform.

    Cons

12 hour shifts from 6 to 6 were never fun. Little breaks during the day. Temp agency and HR don't screen well. We had a Felon on our team and he got in a fight outside with his girlfriend. Another mid level employee had a felony and went to jail on another one. Screening isn't good. People work there are all different education levels (meaning they are lower educated). Pay isn't great.

    Advice to Management

    Keep steady work.

    Pros

A lot of good people work there. Very hard working manufacturing areas.

    Cons

Poor management. Did not recognize employees. Did not allow manufacturing employees any of the benefits that the front office people got on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your employees, give them freedom to excel.

Not a great place to work if you value diversity or experienced co-workers and management

    Pros

The opportunity to get involved with many different projects and technologies early in your career. There are some great people people that are a pleasure to work with. If you fit in, there is a sense of community, but beware if you are an outsider. Great opportunities to work with customers.

    Cons

The staff at Plexus Engineering is vastly white, male, married heterosexuals from the Midwest. If you don't fall into that category or value diversity in the workplace (including diverse thinking) then this probably isn't the place for you. This is not a progressive employer and it's management and policies reflect that. At the Boulder site, really good experienced staff keep leaving because of limited growth opportunities, work environment and mediocre compensation. This is not a place that values "rockstars". Newer site management seems indifferent to this, blames others, and doesn't address the issue, in some cases hiring new college graduates as back-fill. Chronic understaffing means that everyone is frequently fighting fires and resources are continually being moved from project to project.

    Advice to Management

As a services business, your people are your greatest asset. Especially, smart people with different ideas who have the desire to make things happen. Most of the world isn't Neenah, WI. As a global organization you should seek to act as a truly global organization and embrace diversity rather than conformity disguised as "consensus". This includes the continued propagation of Boulder site leadership with people who have spent their entire career at Plexus in Neenah, WI. Your customers are diverse, the world is diverse. You should value that diversity and those with worldly experience, particularly outside of Plexus and outside of Wisconsin.

    Pros

-Stable job ( as long as I was there )
    -Possibilities for overtime
    -Easy job/mindless
-Upper management (PL's, human resources, basically everyone besides the presidents and the people who work the least and get paid the most) are usually pretty cool people who understand how hard we worked
-The 4 10 hour shifts were nice (when we didn't have to work every day besides Sunday)

    Cons

    -No benefits
-Gets extremely boring depending where you are
-Very strict considering it doesn't pay that well and doesn't have benefits
    -Always start as a temp
-HUGE turnover rate, probably because they don't care about their temporary employees and it's obvious
-Pretty much 0 chance you're ever going to get hired on unless you kiss upper management's butt constantly, and even then it's iffy
-You don't get a raise even if you do get hired on
-People are almost always crabby and they don't care for new employees, since they usually end up quitting anyways
-There are a lot of lazy workers who don't work very hard, but no one cares to do anything about it
-Always got chewed out during quality meetings, no matter what we were always doing something wrong

    Advice to Management

Hire decent workers on immediately, don't waste time with temporary workers. Also at least give a raise when hiring on. There's no motivation to do better when someone who has been there for 2 years and is hired on makes the same amount of money as a temp worker who works half as hard. Just appreciate your workers more and you will get better results.

    Pros

Some of my coworkers were great to work with, everyone made an effort to support each other on project teams.

    Cons

Excessive stress, projects constantly late, some management members were combative and rude, creating an almost hostile work environment at times (sometimes even in front of customers).

    Advice to Management

Management members need to support their employees!
