I have been working at Pohanka Lexus of Chantilly full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – non micromanagement style, unless you need it.
great location, but running out of space
effective managers, that work hard, and care about sales
Cons – gross display of favoritism
owner is only interested in bottom line. In a customer service industry this only works for so long.
Advice to Senior Management – Make opportunities fair for everyone, so morale is even, and negativity has no root.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Pohanka Lexus of Chantilly
Pros – It looks great on a resume. The staff is nice for the most part, excluding senior staff. The environment is clean and orderly. There is great lighting in the work bays. The shop is air conditioned and heated. You have access to a break room with a refrigerator, microwave and Krup coffee maker. The shop doors are quick to open and close automatically. Shop is open 365 days a year.
Cons – Since the shop is in plain view of customers it must be kept clean. The shop floor is white ceramic tiles that are more slippery than concrete and even more so when wet. This leads to a dangerous working environment. The lifts are single post in ground. You can not bring your own tool box. You must have a cart. Bays are shared by multiple techs throughout the day as there are two shifts. The first aid box is empty. The brake lathes are in a poorly ventilated and hot room. Even though the shop has A/C it was always set to 89 and the doors were ordered closed. Even when it was cooler outside. The shop has many big windows that don't open. There is no hand cleaner, wash basin nor towels. Low pay compared to regional average. Shop is open 365 days a year. No stereos allowed. No shop fans.
Advice to Senior Management – Redo the shop floor to an anti-slip surface. Lower the A/C to 72. Update the brake lathe room. Change to a single shift system and allow techs to have their own toolbox. Close shop for holidays. Install wash basins in the shop with hand cleaner and towel dispensers. Restock the first aid cabinet and maintain it. Replace the lifts with industry standard rotary lifts. Increase pay to compete with regional averages. Allow for add-time to warranty jobs when correctly documented.
