Pros
Pool Watch is a fun environment for young people and is an extremely relaxed atmosphere (but a little too much so.)
Cons
You while likely end up working with a few complete idiots as the management will pretty much hire anyone who seems nice and even rehire those who were incompetent the first time.
Advice to Senior Management
There needs to be a stricter hiring process to filter out those who aren't serious about the position or knowledgeable.
Pros
Good Pay, You get paid no matter what (rain or shine), great knowledgeable managers and supervisors, growth opportunities. You also get freedom to run/ enforce the pool basically however you want; as long as you are nice and it is effective and you follow the rules. Depending on the pool you are at but you get a lot of free time. You get to sit there and chill basically. Everyone is really nice and you get a pretty good tan. Time and a half pay on Holidays!
Cons
The cleaning isn't too bad. You get used to it and it is nice to know that your pool is clean, because of you. The job sometimes gets boring and it's annoying when its cold and you are waiting to get sent home, (but you still get paid). Some people can barely work, so it seems like they are constantly looking for more employees and sometimes hire people just to have someone to be there, especially when they need subs.
Advice to Senior Management
The management is pretty amazing, but I would suggest to try to hire more people before the season because sometimes shifts need to be covered mid season or something comes up and it can be hard to find a sub.
Pros
There was a lot of freedom to decide when and where to work as well as you got to decide how to enforce the rules at the pool.
Cons
There was lots of cleaning to do which is necessary but extra tedious depending on the size of the pool you work at.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more training to guards will help make them more motivated to do their work thoroughly and provide the most benefit to the company.
