I worked at Popular as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    Highest market share.
    Hands on client experience.
Easy opportunity to shine as most of the workforce is mediocre.

    Cons

20% of the people do 80% of the work.
There is always somebody in a made-up position that got the job because of friends/family connections.
Cap to how much you can grow due to merit rather than relations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase pay to attract a better work force. Adapt to the new banking trends and be less bureaocratic.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Work in Banco Popular gives an employee some good benefits as health plan, 21 days of vacation and sickness leave, a year end bonus representing two weeks of salary and an annual profit sharing.

    Cons

Very sensible work because of the nature of the job. Sensible work because a mistake will cost the loss of the job.

Be more informed about management division performance.
