Pros

Cons
big company means less flexibility
Pros
Safe job; Perks like health insurance, telecommunications products discounts, etc; Lots of people using the products you gonna help design and develop.
Cons
Low wages; incompetent management; corporate environment; many internal divisions with the different commercial brands (SAPO, MEO, TMN), which hinders your work; lots of focus on charging the customer instead of creating great products; cultural division of employees by their rank and job skills;
Advice to Senior Management
Be more organized; think ahead of time; don't always make last minute decisions; give more autonomy to your team members; stay focused instead of trying to create too many products; give real and honest feedback to the team; give importance to continuous assessment of workers job, not only at yearly evaluation.
Pros
Work in huge projects for international clients. Make software to be used for millions of people.
Cons
Work as outsourcer. Few people in the team for much work.
Pros
it's god because you can rotate of function inside the company, and get knowledge of the all business. Trainee program also very god to do networking.
Cons
Very old people, outdated, don't respect the younger guys, like to part of the furniture, ad don't give the place to the younger. The company give to much money to the shareholdings and much less to the employ's
Advice to Senior Management
give more money to the workers, send the old guys away because they are outdated and the company need fresh blood
Pros
Included in a very solid economic group. Competitive starting benefits package. Many departments where various types of skills are usefull.
Cons
Work hours required are not consistent with career progression. Career progression is increadibly slow and the benefits for someone working there for more than 3 years are definitly not competitive.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on a career path with clear and objective goals where employees know how to progress. Have a long term vision for the company that doesn't change every 2 years.
Pros
Flexible working time. Some free food.
Cons
They care more about psychology than technical expertise when they are a technical company.
Advice to Senior Management
Alcino, care more about technical expertise and less about psychology. A programmer is not the same as a human resources employee.
Pros
One of the biggest portuguese companies woriking in Portugal
Offers great sense of security to its workers
One of the main employers in Portugal
Biggest telco in the country
Good people to work with
Cons
Big company means many levels in the hierarchy
Even though it's a strong company, it's not paying the best salaries
No career development plans at the time I left
Advice to Senior Management
Mostly their work is very good, managing to remain atop on a complicated market situation and still creating new opportunities.
However, some of the company's tallent is being put to waste with a difficult development of career.
Pros
"Steady Job" - If you want a job that allows you to live in a quiet place by the sea it may be a good choice
Some of the work is engaging and interesting, but only in hardware or software development.
Cons
Low Pay when compared to other similar companies
Small Town company, not multi-cultural and centered around the main office
Management promoted from within and not very open to new ideas
Work-Life balance is an issue in software development, installation and support - other areas are ok
Advice to Senior Management
Hire Managers from outside the company, it need's fresh ideas.
Fire people occasionally if they don't meet their goals.
Be more open to fresh ideas.
Pros

Cons
Very heavy structure, which sometimes may generate a gab between middle and higher management and the full grasp of company's goals and objectives; large disparity of salaries between employees that came from the old public structure and recent employees; can be very extremely demanding in what concerns allowing employees to balance personal life and career.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should incentive better balance between personal life and working time. They should also make more efforts to balance salaries between middle management based on merits.
Pros
Large Company, strong leadership!
Overall a good place to work but if you want to reach top places be sure your properly connected!

It's like a large oil tanker! If you want to change direction you must do it plenty of time ahead!
Highly concorrential market with tendency to revenue and market share decrease.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest outside Portugal, make PT grow! Don't spend it all in shareholder dividends and aditional revenues. Grow or get swallowed!
