    Fun working environment

    Cons

Terrible with scheduling-- you ask for hours and they don't give them to you or you will get to work and then they say we don't need you you can go home when you have specifically asked for hours.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

    Quick hiring process, good training.

    Cons

You will always smell like bacon, the company is not growing fast enough and you will be an AM until someone gets fired. This happens way too often too.

    Pros

My bosses were great, easy to talk with and they made sure that I had a fun time while working.

    Cons

The bosses don't seem to see how some associates slack off.

    Advice to Management

Don't have the same associates do all of the grunt work, space it all about.

    Pros

Working downtown, financially secure. Slight chance of bonus structure. I can bike to work when the weather's nice. The business is very predictable

    Cons

It's incredibly stressful. The training program is lackadaisical for all the praise they say it has. The company is severely understaffed in key areas. The smell of potbelly lingers and penetrates your very soul with no chance of relinquishing. They have a Huge turnover in their support center so getting to know anyone seems impossible. You feel very small in the totem pole of company operators.

    Advice to Management

Focus on markets with scattered leadership. Don't promise things that aren't happening anytime soon. Total training program reform.

    Pros

The previous culture, before the IPO and focus on sales, is apparent when you walk in. Most employees are helpful, supportive and want to work for this business. They talk about how every new employee needs to be trained well and how that is the business's job. They have some great benefits and some staff enjoying teaching skills and aspects of their jobs to other employees.

    Cons

They talk about and try to promote a culture that is in no way aligned with how the executive staff treats the business and employees, including those at shop level. Executive staff expect lower level employees to pull over-time without pay, take on projects without explanation or guidance, and only focused on making money not promoting internal growth within the company. Executives are not held up to the culture that is expected of the lower level employees. From office talk weekly executive meetings are just a place for these "business leaders" to talk trash about the other employees and belittle people. Be prepared to see a lot of people talking the talk, but not walking the walk.

    Advice to Management

You have to invest in your people for this or any company to do well. You think Quiznos didn't do what you are doing now? And look at them. Stop only being focused on making money and realize that your business is contingent upon your people and not just your sales figures.

    Pros

You get to be apart of a great team normally. Because Potbelly hires so many people from different backgrounds, you get to learn so much about so many different cultures.

    Cons

-Management has no idea what they're doing
-Management forgets where the hardwork really comes from
    -Thankless job
    -Overworked and underpaid
-Company could care less about you and your life

    Advice to Management

ADVICE to CORPORATE: Watch where you place your managers and pay attention to culture surveys that you distribute every year. Your employees are unhappy, mainly because your managers are tyrants.

    Pros

Meeting new people and getting to be in charge of a business.

    Cons

Scheduling. Cutting labor so much customer service suffered. Not a professional environment. HR isn't there to help when you have issues.

    Advice to Management

Stop paying the backbone to the stores so little and cutting hours to make the stocks look better but customer service suffers then the stores get negative customer comments that we get in trouble for and we express how we need to add labor but nothing is ever done.
