Honest review...As true as it can get

    Engineer (Current Employee)
    Delhi (India)

ProsGood salary, always on the client site, PSU Name, respect, medical facilities

ConsPlace of posting (unless you have some good connections), unequal work distribution, remote sites, transfers every 4-5 years, 6 days working (at site), work timing at site not fixed (you might need to come to office on Sunday as well)

Advice to Senior ManagementPostings should be given a lot more thought. It is wrong that a person posted closer to his home, giver lower output. PG can become one of the best org to work with if transfer policies are improved.

    – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Consno family life......can not share family time.......lots of works........no substitute..... so no holiday..... every day working day........ most suitable for buttering.....

Advice to Senior Managementcompulsory rotation of job assigned between field and office staffs..... minimum in three year.....

Life is good at a young age but not so for the elderly people having families and kids but the pay is quite attractive

    Electrical Engineer (Current Employee)
    Gangtok (India)

ProsPay is really quite good along with the Medical facilities.
Chance to see new places every 3-4 years.
Opportunity to work in several departments.
Hands over lots of responsibilities especially to the Executives.

    ConsWork-Life Balance is very poor.
Employees are under a huge pressure to complete the projects at the earliest.
Life is very difficult for the people having ailing parents or kids who are studying.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease enforce a rotational system for the employees who are posted at sites and at the corporate offices.
Also, the compensation of the employees posted at the sites should be at least 1.5 times those posted at the corporate offices for the challenges (mental, physical as well as emotional) people posted at the sites face in their daily life.

    Sycophancy and JUGAAD rule!!!!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Vāranāsi (India)

Pros1:Salary for initial five years.................. Otherwise..... If you don't want to perform and want to earn without labor... This is the job for you.

2:Heaven to work, if you have a good political or bureaucratic connection .

    3:It's CMD

Cons1: Autocratic management, treats employees(read, "without jugaad") as its subjects, not assets
2: No HR policy, you are posted based on your contacts.
3: Discriminating policies, Corporate Center employees are the rulers, RHQ employees are Jiledaars....and Site is "AAM Janta"
4: If you work you will be given the award of more work. One who does not work, will be left free.
5:Highly hierarchical work culture. GM marks a work to DGM, DGM to Chief Manager, Chief Manager to Manager, Manager to Dy Manager, Dy Manager to Sr Engineer/Engineer, Sr Engineer/Engineer has to work. One man to work Tens of men to follow up :)

6:NO...ABSOULTELY NO efforts of employee welfare at sites.

Advice to Senior ManagementA company is much more than "just a balance sheet".

one of the best learning experience you can ever have: It opens your eyes once forever

    Engineer (Former Employee)
    Surat (India)

ProsOne, very good learning experience: you gat to meet a lot of people from very different backgrounds and organisations, even authorities
Two, good skill improvement if you are lucky to get a good posting
    Three, good salary + PSU
Four: experience valued extremely by power companies

ConsOne, Pathetic work culture: No clear cut work specification (mostly), more you work more you are given to work, people value your work by how many hours you stay at office rather that the quantum of work you put in, you dont work you go scot free.
Two: Even pathetic work life balance if you are unlucky with your posting
    Three:
