I have been working at Powers Company full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

All of the Managing Partners are available and willing to talk/listen
    Truly puts the client first
Building a great foundation with their targeted recruiting
Fosters a team atmosphere vs. a cutthroat atmosphere (i.e. DBA, Proudfoot, Celerant, etc.)
They care about you as an individual, you're not viewed as a billable body

    Cons

It is Management Consulting so the travel 5 day a week/50 out of 52 weeks a year can be a challenge for some
Shedding the comparisons to other Management Consulting companies

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep going down this path and it will be a very successful and well respected organization

I worked at Powers Company full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The client relationships made have been invaluable.
The younger staff are very ambitious and always looking for opportunity.

    Cons

    Old school mentality and tools.
Lacks structured management and communication between principals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you don't want to follow in DBA's footsteps and the toxic culture then don't fill the roster with Ex-DBA guys.

    Pros

Senior management great with client, great compensation, care about employees, good training and development, travel is 4-5 days per week, personal interest in our training and development.

    Cons

Weekly travel is a challenge but company is good about balanced with work and personal life. Some weekend work due to client operational structure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to expand faster to provide more upward mobility. Pay is excellent but need opportunities for more management responsibility and project management experience.

  5.

Decent pay, but the travel schedule (Sunday through Friday) is brutal.

    I worked at Powers Company

    Pros

    Decent Pay for the industry.
Exposure to some solid "old school" consulting techniques and approaches.
Would recommend for recent graduates with no family who want to learn via trial by fire.

    Cons

    Brutal Travel
    Lack of Communication from Management
Some of the Management team can be outright abusive to both team members and the Client.
    No work/life balance whatsoever.
