    I have been working at Premier America Credit Union full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    The people at Premier America are among the best in the Credit Union industry. The atmosphere is very friendly and everyone supports each other. There is none of the political infighting and backbiting I've experienced at other organizations.

    Cons

    We run with a lean staff which is great for the bottom line but can be challenging when there are multiple projects and priorities. The upside is that employees get the chance to learn many different areas inside the credit union.

    Don't change a thing

    Pros

    Small company with a more family feel. Good benefits and pay.

    Cons

    Bad computer systems, not enough training for the branches and little support from managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Need to care more about staff and less about your bottom line. Happier employees means hardworking employees. Really need to assess management in all departments. Some really don't deserve to be there. Don't be afraid to get employee feedback and promote within.

    Friendly work environment
    Understanding Management
    Flexible with time off
    Stable and Financially Strong company - Much better than competitors
    Employee-Valued culture
    Christmas Parties are fun

    Too small of a company too grow
    People stay in their positions for too long - Not much chance for growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Nothing wrong with management, in fact I think it has a very good Management structure right now. I just think for people who want to move up within the a company for more experience might find it difficult to do so at Premier America. However, its just because of its size, thats all. There is a huge potential for growth in the future.

    Pros

    Good pay, good benefits, friendly co-workers

    Cons

    Management does not care about employees, constantly forced to change vacations and/or scheduled days off. Lack of staffing, forced to take on multiple roles without proper compensation. Head of the branches only wants to make a profit, cheaps out on essentials to save a buck. Head of branches is too focused on being more like a bank then keeping true to the credit union goal's itself. Office politics are throughout the company. Pretty much if you work under a manager that is not liked by head of branches or someone high up in the company, you will not receive a raise, promotion, or a properly staffed branch. Many people within the company have left or leave, most often due to stress. It is about who you are friends with as well as if you are willing to brown nose or not. If you do not suck up to upper management, you will never get a raise, an acknowledgment for your work, or promotion. Constant stress and feeling overwhelmed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management needs to understand that we are a credit union not a bank... BIG DIFFERENCE. Focus on making your members happy, not saving a dollar. We are not B of A. Also, focus on properly staffing your branches so people are not working 6 days a week. Also, understand that your employees have lives, families, and better things to do then stress at work.

    Pros

    Everybody who works here is friendly and outgoing, very customer service oriented, not an extremely demanding workplace, low turnover rate.

    Cons

    Everyone is afraid of management and board members, especially since you see them so much. Some new management from B of A, unfortunately turning customer service into B of A (crappy)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on customer service, keep making safe and smart investments, put competent and motivated people in direct contact with members.
