I have been working at Prestige Maintenance USA part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Hours increased during the holiday season
Associates at the company I cleaned for were very nice to work with

    Cons

Payroll has many issues. Some weeks you have to fight for your pay.
Management is very demeaning, disciplining you for work not done.
No training program is in place, so if something wasn't done, usually it's because you aren't trained to do it until they think you're 'slacking off'
Not enough hours given to complete work. You are expected to fit 8 hours of work into 4 many days.
Pay rate is rather low for the amount of performance expected of you.
    No benefits given to custodians.
Long days, sometimes split shift. You may go in for 5 or 6 hours at 6 AM, and have to back in at 4 PM until the store you're cleaning closes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate with area managers, and have those managers communicate with staff at the store level. The lack of communication is astounding, and makes the people representing your company on a daily basis give a poor example of your service as a whole

    Pros

Rachel Sanchez in my opinion, is probably a great leader but has no idea how poorly her management team treats employees.

    Cons

NO communication so you're on your own! NO delivery on promises made! They have NO idea about what they're doing but instead depend on outside contractors to bring in professionalism. Do NOT attempt to inform them about current laws when there are violations, you'll pay the price on that one (those that have certifications/licenses beware!!!!!!). Beware of taking positions as you'll usually end up as a sub-contractor working for another sub-contractor to the actual client... they like to keep that a secret until after you're committed. They'll force you to use their client base instead of competitive bids to save the client money (kick-backs?) They'll tell you proceed in one direction, and then require another direction when you least expect it. They'll want people to take charge, and then micromanage anyway.
In short, for the desperate... take your chances. For the skilled/educated, don't even think about it!!!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace management and put professionals in that know what they're doing so the client will end up with a professional product/service! Learn how to use the talents and skills of employees to build the greatest TEAM effort! Learn how to communicate and support company staff so there's a known direction! And be HONEST about everything you do!

I have been working at Prestige Maintenance USA as a contractor

    Pros

Absolutely none. Awful company! Very deceptive. Obviously lacking values.

    Cons

If you are doing subcontracted work you will not get paid. They lie and tell you 30 days to get you in and then tell you later it will be 75. Their account managers have little or no clue what is going on and they are extremely deceptive. Stay away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop telling lies to your sub contractors or you are going to lose every account you have. I honestly don't know how you live with yourselves.

I have been working at Prestige Maintenance USA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's a contracted position, so if you get a nice location the job is bearable. So far no unresolved payroll issues.

    Cons

Minimum wage with no raises ever, no benefits, no holiday pay, no overtime, and no days off. No training, despite signing a paper that agrees to 30hrs minimum of supervised training. Insufficient supplies, will not replace necessary equiptment as it wears out. You always run on a skeleton crew. Can't contact my manager or supervisor because they never answer the phones. They favor immigrants heavily, but even so it's not benficial.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Either just shut it down or start treating and paying your employees fairly.

    Pros

None that I can think of on the top of my head.

    Cons

This company constantly lose paperwork, very disorganized, have too many illegal immigrants working on high positions. They don't pay you or give you raises. The employees don't know there position or do there jobs correctly. All of the higher ups only hire there own family members.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Clean house!

I worked at Prestige Maintenance USA

    Pros

They give you a paycheck every two weeks. Pay was pretty fair for the position.

    Cons

The Director of Operations and most upper management are completely useless. There is no support whatsoever. They get around the local law of paying overtime for time worked over 40 hours per week. Many payroll problems. As a manager you are 100 percent on your own with no support whatsoever. If you are unable to staff a location, tough . It has to wait until you can the next time you visit. The whole field of building maintenance/ housekeeping is littered with many shady individuals who only care about themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Choose better senior managers.
