    Pros

Family owned, fast pace, room for advancement, flexible hours to part-timers, great benefits, and competitive salaries.

    Cons

Need to find ways to continue to create more excitement in the stores for the employees.

    Advice to Management

Maybe start an employees discount program.

    Pros

New & largely clean stores; flexibility for low-availability teammates; fairly easy process to cross-train in other departments

    Cons

Near zero corporate presence in the store (with teammates); lacking even application of policy, little opportunity for advancement without a higher-up taking to you first; below industry average rates of pay (to part timers); dramatic gap between veteran part-timer & brand new low-management pay; inability to provide feedback geared at "continuous improvement" and actually see anything done toward it/hear any valid response; haphazardly updated systems; many sadly outdated systems

    Advice to Management

Welcome your employees differences, opinions, traditions, values, perspectives and dreams; challenge *teammates* to teach you something you don't know; as lovers of online training programs, design a test which measures business management aptitude and automatically flag those who seem like strong candidates; catch up with the 21st century in how you compensate your employees and what tools you make available to them for the increasingly larger demands passed through each level of management; learn about and implement Six Sigma &/or TQM to actually engage your workforce and increase profits collectively

    Pros

    Flexible hours
Friendly co-workers, easy to talk with any manager about issues.
Schedule being posted on a website is nice.

    Cons

Having to follow a script to the LETTER or you get reprimanded for it.
Idiotic company polices, including required carding of every single customer for anything age restricted, doesn't matter if they're 100 years old.
Being treated as a disposable robot even though you've been with the store longer then most managers and more knowledgeable then most managers.
Promotions are either not worth it, or rare. Promotion to supervisor doesn't even come with a pay raise, only a guaranteed amount of hours for double the responsibilities.
Insanely hard to get payroll to actually pay you for vacation/sick/birthday pay when taken.
Scheduling is done only 1 week at a time, you don't even know if you're working monday until the previous friday afternoon.

    Advice to Management

Trust and show your longer term employees that you care. Stop with the pointless scripts! Get rid of the stupid secret shopper program and just let your employees have common sense for good customer interaction instead of making us into robots who are scared they might get written up because they didn't follow the script exactly in order.

    Pros

You are guarunteed 40 hours a week for the most part you also get a bit of a raise from the average part time worker.

    Cons

More than likely you float around to different stores instead of having one home store. Your scheduling is determined on if anyone needs you that week or not so sometimes you might work a bit less. You also never know where you are going. The worst part is you do not get the same holiday benefits as a full time employee the ONLY difference between you and part time are the hours.

    Advice to Management

Offer full time packages or somewhat better deal to temps

    Pros

the company offers good benefits for full time employees and if you are lucky enough to get to be full time there are other benefits to the job

    Cons

Hours are not favorable to most . not enough help/employees to do the job they want,

    Pros

Flexible hours, good team environment, and good training.

    Cons

No benefits, bad incentives, programs that never last, no raises after additional training for part time employees.

    Advice to Management

Give employees on front end with more training raises ( ex. Easy scan, guest services & front end supervisors). Give us lunch discounts. Your food is too expensive. It's 5$ for me to get a small soup on my break.

    Pros

Great people who you can build friendships with

    Cons

But the changes that have been put in place to cut costs have really hurt the employees. They are overworked and unhappy. Same now goes for many customers who have moved on to the competition.

    Advice to Management

Need to focus on a culture overhaul, work life balance and more predictale hours for employees in your stores.

    Pros

Free food. There's a lot of down time on slow days. Sunday's you get paid a dollar extra and you always get the best seafood for yourself to take home.

    Cons

Too much work for such little pay, why deal with fish guts and smell like fish for 8 dollars when you can work anywhere else. You get a small 10 cent raise every 6 month and get capped at 10 dollars

    Advice to Management

    Get organized.
