    Pros

    Flexible hours for students, parents
Easy job if you're good with customer service

    Cons

    Not enough hours
    Favoritism
    Low pay
Every time they hire new cashiers they cut the older cashier's hours

    Advice to Management

Be more appreciative of employees who rarely call out and give them more hours. Also the work place can be a little more laid back, management is extremely uptight makes working there a drag. Cashiers get in trouble for talking to each other and a lot of pressure is put on them when the store is slow. Management just needs to learn how to be polite and treat employees with respect. Supervisors and managers always talk down on cashiers, and other employees.

  2. I was a cashier for 2 years, and there was just a lack of advancement opportunities.

    Pros

It was relatively close to home, that's the only positive thing.

    Cons

The parking lot wasn't maintained, so there were a lot of car accidents. The supervisors weren't that nice, the bathrooms were disgusting. The meat often smelt disgusting, and there were a lot of stealing. The only reason I stayed so long was to have some income while in college. Most of the cashiers and staff were very chatty/liked to spread gossip.

    Advice to Management

CLEAN THE STAFF AND PUBLIC BATHROOMS!!!!! Also if the meat smells bad, it's not right to sell it! It would also help to provide feedback to the cashiers so that they could become better, and to have more advancement opportunities.

  5. It is not a bad short term part time job, I just do not think the managers have your best interest in mind.

    Pros

Friendly, diverse co-workers. They also had flexible hours for all part time staff

    Cons

The management only cares about themselves. Tries to send in store workers outside in snow unprepared. Will try to enforce rules on some but not on others. Very poor business strategies and some questionable long term corporate strategies.

    Advice to Management

Do not have your "competitive advantage" be your workforce, then treat them bad and have a new group come in every 3 months. It just doesn't make sense to me how they can be an advantage when they are always new workers.

  6. Good company very nice employees and hardworking people

    Pros

Cash office, fast working enviroment, friendly customers

    Cons

Too much gossip, front end managers slacked off so everyone had to pick up after them, crappy hrs,no confidentiality.

    Advice to Management

ACT LIKE MANAGMENT. STOP THE GOSSIPING WITH CASHIERS. GROW THE HELL UP!!!!!

    Pros

    It was a good workout.

    Cons

Lack of organization within upper store management, poor wages, poor scheduling, overly-bloated responsibilities with what feels like no compensation, lackluster atmosphere, demanding environment that breaks down your body and mind, management all assume you're an idiot.

    Advice to Management

Be more open and honest about the conditions of a job when you hire someone. Don't treat your employees like cattle.

I have been working at PriceRite

    Pros

Good Workers. Good Management. The store wants to provide great service but overworks pt/ft employees for close to little pay.

    Cons

Bad raises unless you like a dime every six month. Not enough pay for overnight, and the work load is infinite. They pretty much want five guys to do what takes other stores a least twelve guys. Also part-timers are getting two work nights because minimal wage is up.

    Advice to Management

Stop being cheap. Treat your employees better and you get better results.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work
