Pros
Ability to work in a constantly changing environment allowing for a variety of experiences in a relatively short period.
Cons
Lack of consistent leadership through the firm. There are a lot of managers but less true leaders or a good combination of both.
Pros
Variety of work assignments, good compensation and benefits, flexibility to telecommute
Cons
like other big 4 firms, it's hit or miss with the quality of the people. It can be embarrassing when a team member asks a client a question for which he/she should already know the answer; or openly disagrees with you in front of a client.
Advice to Senior Management
First rate people hire first rate people, second rate people hire third rate people!
Pros
- opportunities to work on a team
- face to face interaction with Partners and Seniors in the firm
- compensation and bonuses
- longevity and knowledge of PwC employees
Cons
- competitive culture
- independent based tasks
- many employees are focused on CPA
- career path is pretty direct in this industry as a whole
Advice to Senior Management
As an intern, I received great feedback on my accomplishments. I applaud PwC for their direct contact with all team members at different levels.
Pros
Big name, boosts your resume.
Cons
Less salary, lot of travelling if a consultant
Advice to Senior Management
Please be more lineant on the work hour schedule
Pros
corporate culture, compansation package, value to employees
Cons
audit dominance, work life balance
Pros
- Excellent work environment
- Partners show that they care for employees
- Partners give honest feedback about your strengths and weaknesses
- Excellent opportunity to have all round development
- Lots of focus on networking
Cons
- Strong partnership hold...they dont want to collaborate until they benefit . They talk about "One firm" only if they get to benefit.
- people from corporate cultures might find it difficult
- Too much audit focused
Advice to Senior Management
Make it more consulting focused. Partners are still very much audit focused. I keep hearing that PwC is the only Big 4 which still has a lot of audit focus compared to KPMG, Deloitte or EY.
Pros
good place to begin your career but not after that
Cons
no work life balance, make you work like a dog
Pros
The flexible working hours make it work around my personal commitments
Cons
orking long hours in comparison to the pay
Pros
Support for career development is very good, opportunities to travel abroad on international assignments are easy to get if you want them. Excellent holidays and benefits.
Cons
Pay is average for the industry and you won't be getting banker-style bonuses. The organization can be very political and its important to get a good network within the firm to progress.
Pros
grow in professional knowledge. easy to find opportunities to work globally. great international environment. average high salary. easy exit to other industry.
Cons
narrow promotion path. not well organised human resource policy. partnership which makes organisation management system a bit loose and less clear.
Advice to Senior Management
keep the global and international environment to the employees and offer better compensation. Create more clear and organised human resource system.
