Pros
When you are looking for another job, the name PWC will be like a magic word to get interviews
they are flexible about start time (bc you work ridiculous hours)
lots of training available online
international presence
all the other things associated with big 4.
Cons
this is truly a place for type A people. If you are laidback, you will not fit it. being somewhat shy or quiet will not work to your advantage.
Pwc claims to value diversity. Diversity in race maybe but not in personality. If you are not the intense bubbly eager type you will be labeled as "not a team player"
the hours they expect from you are ridiculous. i've worked monday through sunday till 3am for a month straight (and had to be back at work the next day at 9). Don't be fooled by "it's only during busy season". That applies only to audit. In tax, busy season is whenever you are on a client.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay overtime and you will see that you will become more efficient.
Pros
Great brand with the ability to open corporate doors. Good investment in training and development. Knowledge management is strongly prompted.
Cons
Partner fiefdoms create a lot of friction in sharing resources. Career success largely depends on which partner you align yourself with.
Advice to Senior Management
Seek to understand who the real contributors of value are among the employee ranks and reward them. Avoid performance review process that rewards favoritism and cronyism.
Pros
Big 4
Good on resume
Okay pay
Decent perks
Cons
Bad feedback programs
People think they are smart, but they aren't
Not flexible with engagement options
Too much politics
Advice to Senior Management
Please make the training classes more productive. It is very difficult to do 100 things at the same time. Better feedback programs would be nice too.
Pros
Work environment and benefits are the at pwc. Post work connections are great! The pay is soso compared to other big 4. Great opportunities come your way when you leave.
Cons
Long hours are always going to be present. Once in a while you have a bad team that doesn't like to talk or a senior that doesn't know much.
Advice to Senior Management
Management does a great job at communicating to the rest if the employees.
Pros
Experience, great training program, exposure to client base.
Cons
Long hours. Very demanding deadlines.
Pros
Posiiton and reputation in the market
Cons
limited career growth for sales and marketing associates
Advice to Senior Management
Adopt stronger sales and marketing program
Pros
Salary, bonuses, career advancement, suggestions
Cons
Long hours, not enough positions
Pros
good work/life balance, great training opportunities, like the people alot
company is making a good effort with transparency with staff (compensation, policy changes, current state of the company, future targets & plans)
Cons
long term engagements when consulting should be about getting exposure to alot of differnet clients/projects, hard to find strategy only projects - recently alot seem to be IT implementations related, profit sharing/bonus structure could use improvement.
Pros
Good place to start career
Exit opportunities are excellent
Variety of industries
Top Big 4 firm
Ability to rotate international is a plus
Cons
High turnover
Teams are hit or miss - most people are intelligent, but if you work with someone below level, it's frustrating
Advice to Senior Management
There is a clear path at PricewaterhouseCoopers. The leadership does a good job of communicating goals and ideas to the staff.
Pros
It is great for the resume and they have experts in many different areas and they are a global practice.
Cons
Make no effort to integrate one into advisory practice. Very snoobish and most consultants can only speak about themselves.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't hire peope while having no idea qhat you will use them for.
