Pros
cutting edge, excellent knowledge sharing, good colleagues, fun, great exposure to high profile clients, good though leadership and training opportunities
Cons
work life balance was not a high priority
too much travel with the assumption that an employee can always be available
timely feedback not sufficient
Pros
Upward Mobility. Fair management. Good Community.
Cons
Attrition quickly straight out of college.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to help staff grow.
Pros
Support for career development is very good, opportunities to travel abroad on international assignments are easy to get if you want them. Excellent holidays and benefits.
Cons
Pay is average for the industry and you won't be getting banker-style bonuses. The organization can be very political and its important to get a good network within the firm to progress.
Pros
The Pricewaterhousecoopers cachet is unparalleled. Great place to start off your career and and get resume protection. Get your first job here if for no other reason.
Cons
The transaction services strategy is completely disorganized, if there is one at all. There's not enough work to go around, my entire start class is demoralized after being hired for something we're not actually going to do, and with more new kids starting in the fall, it's madness.
Advice to Senior Management
Work life balance is a joke. The three year promotion schedule is a joke. We are the only big four to promote in three years, and thus losing talent to the other three.
Pros
Highly professional working environment
Opportunity to learn with industry thought leaders...the best of the best
Strong culture of team work and information sharing
Cons
Very long work hours
Inability to disconnect during vacation time
Pros
Team spirit
Opportunities to upgrade skills
Cons
Lower market share in the ERP space
Promotions to higher management is long drawn
Advice to Senior Management
Be aware about the competition
Encourage employees to look for opportunities within the firm
Pros
- flexibility in schedule and places to work from
- fairness of the review process
- ability to learn outside of your expertise area and grow professionally
- great staff benefits and perks
- extra days off during holidays
Cons
- lack of structure in onboarding process
- lots of misfit placements based on project demands vs associate/senior assoc skills
- mentoring with the senior management rarely works due to their heavy work schedules so getting one on one time is challenging to say the least
Advice to Senior Management
- spend more time on finding better fitting projects for associates/senior associates based on their skill set and not purely on headcount need
Pros
There are a lot of opportunities to volunteer.
Cons
My irritation is at Diamond Advisory Services and not at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a whole.
Advice to Senior Management
Management at Diamond Advisory Services should at least pretend that favoritism does not dictate the treatment of employees.
Pros
Ability to work on a variety of clients and a chance early on to interact with clients and manage people.
Cons
Work/Life balance is very difficult to achieve and overall performance recognition is sometimes difficult to achieve due to the review process.
Pros
Work environment and benefits are the at pwc. Post work connections are great! The pay is soso compared to other big 4. Great opportunities come your way when you leave.
Cons
Long hours are always going to be present. Once in a while you have a bad team that doesn't like to talk or a senior that doesn't know much.
Advice to Senior Management
Management does a great job at communicating to the rest if the employees.
