Pros
Collegiate and intellectual atmosphere
Exposure to high profile clients
Always engaging with the C suite when interfacing with clients

Very limited career progression for non-accountant niche specialists
Promotion more of a political game than a meritocracy
The Partners are often not all pulling together in the same direction and one can all too easilyget caught between opposing Partners

More concentration needed on the needs of the individual rather than finding the next engagement

- Strong partnership hold...they dont want to collaborate until they benefit . They talk about "One firm" only if they get to benefit.
- people from corporate cultures might find it difficult
- Too much audit focused
Advice to Senior Management
Make it more consulting focused. Partners are still very much audit focused. I keep hearing that PwC is the only Big 4 which still has a lot of audit focus compared to KPMG, Deloitte or EY.

Nice people, nice office, great variety of work in terms of nature and client industry. All in all a great place to begin a career and stay there should you be so inclined.

Work hard and play hard can be unsuitable for some. Some areas of the firm can be a bit cliquey at times too, but not many.

Understand that the firm must be successful if partners are paid such large salaries. The salaries of anyone below partner level are insufficient.

Career development excellent - those talented will certainly be valued in the firm. HR had some incredibly interesting and competent from different backgrounds.

Some internal politics - communication issues between levels of staff, and people with some real ego's who think they are a bit more important than they are.

Maintain better communication channels with staff, and focus on how the firm together can reach business objectives.

a) Salary is below that of other consultancies - even during the boom years, when utilisation and billing rates were very high
b) Partners more focussed on maximising their profit share than on developing the wider practice
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in higher salaries and bonuses. Make the promotion process more transparent, currently there is a risk of consultants being promoted more on who they know, rather on the substance of their work.
