The worst internship I've ever done

    Financial Representative Intern (Former Employee)
    Lutherville Timonium, MD

ProsGood work/life balance. Really laid-back (to a fault). Pretty much free-rein of the entire office.

ConsReally money-centered. Unhelpful when it comes to training, they expect you to accost and bring in your friends and family so that you can be trained, while they get the benefits. They have no formal training program. No leadership or path to follow. Pretty much could do whatever I wanted, no one was checking to make sure I was doing any sort of work.

Advice to Senior ManagementInstead of selling how much 'money' I'll be making and how 'rich' I'm going to be, why not tell me about the products and what I'll be doing to help the little man get over the difficulties of insurance.

SCAM. Stay away and find a real job.

    Financial Advisor (Former Employee)
    San Antonio, TX

ProsThey promise you all this paid training and vacations.

ConsYou don't have any leads or clients you have to sell only to people you know. All the money being made is just from you recruiting people to the company. It's stupid and they are really fake its almost scary.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop this pyramid scheme and be a real insurance company.

I love what they do and believe in it wholeheartedly.

    Representative (Current Employee)
    Urbandale, IA

ProsGreat pay structure, the commission percentages are excellent. They pay for you to get your life and securities licenses.

ConsSome people are allowed to recruit before they are ready and don't know what they are doing. They say the $25/mo POL fees are optional, but in reality you need it to do your job.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut more in writing. It took forever to figure out pay and other things. Let people recruit, but make sure they are ready.
