Former Employee – worked at ProFunds full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Cutting edge ideas and work.
Good location and workplace.
Friday morning breakfast and occasional lunches.
Killer holiday party.
Decent compensation.
Cons – Poor to borderline horrible management.
Management style is fear based.
Little to no upward mobility.
Bonus metrics difficult to attain.
Advice to Senior Management – There are many talented employees that are being stifled by the oppressive environment at this firm. Manage them to their skill sets and this would be an enjoyable place to go to work.

Current Employee – been working at ProFunds full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – This company has some exciting financial products. They offer good benefits - health insurance, 401k, gym membership, theres free food very often and hold lots of sporting events.
Cons – Little to no opportunity for career growth. Lousy pay unless you are part of top management. Huge disparity in pay between top & lower levels of management. Management doesnt care about its employees. Employees have no input into anything. This company is a one man show and therefore nothing ever gets done. Resistant to change. The firm doesnt know what it wants to be.
Advice to Senior Management – Management needs to realise that employees are the strength of an organization.

Current Employee – been working at ProFunds
Pros – Company hires a fair amount of smart people.
Innovative products.
Nice convenient offices.
Lots of free food.
Cons – Completely rudderless and nasty leadership. Direction all over the place. Lots of resources get wasted on lots of projects that never go any where. Success came quickly and they seem out of their league.
Advice to Senior Management – Get a pair.

Current Employee – been working at ProFunds
Pros – Okay breakfasts on Fridays. Lots of great people to work with. Nice office atmosphere and a relaxed environment.
Cons – Too much of a top-down management style. Upper management has no clue how to work with employees and their needs. Lack of communication about expectations. Very little trust of employees and their capabilities. Total lack of direction. Completely rudderless at times. I could go on but you get my drift.
Advice to Senior Management – The rest of the management team needs to grow a spine and stand up to the owners. Relax with the total control of all aspects of the company and let people do their job that they were hired for. Make a decision and stop vacillating all over the place with options you come up with out of thin air.
