    Pros

Great product. Engineers are highly recognised in the company as the most of the management is with engineer background and still actively involved in engineering. Great friendly team, kind of a family environment (when you get to meet your teammates - see cons). It's still a startup: there are a lot of things that may be improved and there is freedom to pick what you would like to improve and just do it.

    Cons

Almost half of the company works from home, which results in poor communication between employees and departments. Quarterly team meetings have recently been replaced by online meetings. Career opportunities are limited, probably due to the company size.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire professional managers to help the "good old guys" who are great guys indeed, but perhaps need some guidance when it comes to management. Internal communication really needs improvement.

    I worked at Procera Networks

    Pros

Technology and solutions that customers wanted. Some of the staff were professional and enjoyed working with them. Good smart engineers

    Cons

Poor management, no vision and only interested in lining their own pockets. Pathetic group that was more like an old boys club. Engineering controlled strategy and that is not a good strategy for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

employees are your asset not liability. Focus on investing in marketing and getting visibility for the company. Understand the market first before deciding on strategy and don't let engineering drive strategy.

    Pros

    Fully paid health insurance
    good product

    Cons

Working environment hostile. Poor to no communication of expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. I think the problem in my case was at the edge with little visibility centrally.

    Pros

Great product and fantastic R&D guys

    Cons

All US mgmt is immature and treats employees as if they are expendable. Salespeople do not get full disclosure of their compensation goals or achievement to quota. Are they hiding numbers from the SEC? Only time will tell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create an open door policy and hire some experienced, forward thinking managers.

    Pros

Flat structure, corporate hirarchies kept at a reasonable minimum.
    Fairly nimble organization.
Good opportunities to seize responsibility and grow with the tasks at hand.
Many employees with kids, good acceptance for time off with for child care.

    Cons

Currently experiencing a rather large growth spurt, which is very good but taxing.
Loads of different cultures, work cultures and time zones that need to intermingle smoothly. Mostly working well, but takes effort.
