Advice to Senior Management
P&G had a great field team of dedicated people but as of last week P&G decided to out source their RetailPulse devision to 3rd. party. Hundreds of people are out of jobs with no explaination as to why this decission was made.
Pros
Respected Company to work for... Much flexibility with Part-time employment... Much respect for personal time off as needed... Enough information on products to be productive in the field.
Cons
Terrible technology. Those of us in the field have been behind the eight ball for years. Sidekicks?? Terrible. Although our immediate supervisors are terrific and very respectful of our personal lives and demands, upper management is COLD! 2700 people laid off on a conference call?? We'll be phased out until October 1???? It's January!! How can anyone maintain a professional demeanor knowing you're out the door in 6 months??
Advice to Senior Management
From the beginning I have had issues with the sloppiness of written documents. Our training manual had so many typos it was difficult to read!! At meetings, the slides are sloppy. Poor grammar. Misspellings. Perhaps I'm old-school but none of these conditions increases P&G's ratings. Also, the person in charge of the conference call which terminated 2700 people was so annoyingly sugary while stabbing people in the heart that it was nauseating.
Pros
Large company with great benefits with great brands to work with.
Cons
Laid off yesterday over 2400 pat time merchandisers
Advice to Senior Management
A conference call to read a canned memo that you are let go is not a way to handle sensitive issues, the management team should be ashamed of how it was handled. But, when you have the high saleries, it is easy I gues
Pros
Starting pay is good compared to other companies
Cons
Pay increases never happen
After 11 years with the company laid off with a nationwide conference call for all US Retail Pulse employees
Pros
It's a top notch company and only recruits the best talent. Less than 0.1% of applicants are hired each year. You'll learn so much and grow tremendously working for P&G.
Cons
Because we hire so many great people, competition is stiff. And the bottom 3% each year are put on a performance plan and coached out if they don't improve.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should continue to push us to meet goals and keep our values, never forgetting the people who really drive the company. I think that's happening and should continue.
Pros
Career Growth and Training Opportunities
Cons
Growth is based on a triangle system. not everyone can reach the top. you have to be the right person for the job and be available at the right time
Pros
Excellent pay, without a doubt one of the best companies I have ever worked for. Innovative thinking required for the job.
Cons
A lot of work as well as challenging but none the less a good company. Hours can be long but well worth it
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to do what you guys are doing, it definitely helps the work force morale seeing the leaders at P&G.
Pros
Good training session.
Great opportunities to show your performance and learn about business process and work flow in one of the biggest company
Cons
Hard work : Although I found it was very challenge but when I told someone about my experience most of them think that my work was hard.
Advice to Senior Management
The manager who was my coach during internship program was very good. I always received useful advice. However I fell that if I could have more time with my coach, it would be great.
Pros
Large company with much to offer. Headquarters in a city that is good to raise a family. Compensation is good and there are opportunities to take on a variety of challenging roles. An opportunity to work with smart people
Cons
As with any large company, bureaucracy is an issue. Decisions are sometimes slower than they should be. Work/life balance is talked about but never truly achieved. Career advancement isn't always fair.
Advice to Senior Management
Tenure isn't everything - some people tend to rest on their laurels which does not help them when managing others or setting a good example. Such people can be better utilized elsewhere than in managing younger, less tenured employees.
Pros
Recognition & Career Path along with a strong and well prepared collegues
Cons
Dependancy on partners and loss of knowledge
Advice to Senior Management
Simplification
