You gain a wide range of valuable skills

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsLeadership is very supportive about creating a learning and growing type of culture.
Taking ownership is very expected and you really gain a variety of useful skills that make you work more efficiently.
Management makes it clear on your role and how you impact the company to make you feel valued.

ConsIf you do not have an engineering degree, you start out about 2 levels below someone who does have an engineering degree. It can takes many years to catch up.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep promoting a learning and ownership of work environment. Try not to treat people differently based on their titles.

Managers focused on getting the most they can out people with little regard to personal mgmt. Biased career development

    F&A (Current Employee)
    Cincinnati, OH

ProsSalary, benefits good. Watch out is that they have been cut back over a long period of time and probably will continue to be decreased.

ConsLimited advancement opportunities as P&G has reached an market growth peak. The only way to grow P&G is through acquisitions (like Gillette for $57B). This acquisition was overpriced, butt it was a key objective for fop management. New product development and go to market is declining forcing the company to look to acquisitions to grow.

Advice to Senior ManagementA company shows it is struggling when it continues to lay off employees in waves on a continual basis, cutting benefits, and using stock purchase programs to support the stock price. Poor choice with Bob McDonald, and even AG back at the helm, the underlying issues remain. A company MUST grow itself, not just acquire other companies who have already done the work for you . . . Even if you acquire a #1 brand(s) through an acquisition, you are faced with a LARGER base on which further growth is rated. You just have made the companies future growth harder! As a non-manufacturing employee, if you cut employees and you fit that cut, then you should take a pay and benefit cut to match.
