More input from those who are actually on the front lines. There were a lot of initiatives that you could tell some higher up who is completely out of touch came up with.

Progressive is a great place to work, great atmosphere, friendly coworkers, supervisors who respect you as a person. I would highly recommend it as a great place to work.

I don't have very many cons. I worked for several years in a call center environment, and that got a little stressful at times with the volume and the metrics. However, the supervisors understand that, and try to do what they can to offset the workload.

Everyone says it is a great place to work, keep telling yourself that.

Claims Service Representatives are the middle people between the adjusters and the insured, since the adjuster is never available take a message and pass it on only.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't take your status so seriously. You were once on the phones and I know you can remember what it was like to be on the bottom of the totem pole.

The pay is comparable to the market

No consistency in management from one group to the next. In order to advance you need to be one of the favorites and male. Hard work and dedication do not come into play. They no longer care about the people. When I first started it was all about the employees. I enjoyed coming to work and giving 110%. That is no longer the case. I come in do what I'm told and leave. I no longer feel that I can express my opinion. I have lost many friends here due to down sizing or better opportunities.

Open your eyes. There are many good people leaving. Some focus needs to be on your people not the numbers. After all if they are not happy your numbers won't be either.

Some Claim Directors need to improve their managerial skills and listen more to the employees
Promote more from within who are capable of handling and familiar with the operations

Most people start at the bottom of the ladder - you have to pay your dues, which may mean working a less than desirable shift, or tedious phone job to start.
