I worked at Progressive Digital Media (less than a year)

    Pros

    Some good colleagues

Will help you realize if sales is the career for you. I started looking for a new job after 5 weeks of being head hunted for this one, I'm glad I took the job as I made a complete change of career and I am now working in an industry I love. It gave me the drive to get out of sales.

Potential to earn a lot, if sales is a career you're dedicated to. I fell into sales, for the people who work there and see it as a career and the job for life for them, they are doing well. But for graduates starting their first job, see it as a potential to learn in a fast paced, highly target driven environment.

    Cons

    Nepotism
    Cutthroat
Don't know how to manage people as individuals
Products are very much quantity not quality which can make it difficult to meet targets
Lad culture can get very annoying very quickly and it seems like you're working on a market stall trying to beg professionals to buy your product that they really don't want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take more time with recruitment

Stress the target driven environment and how it is a revolving door company

Be honest with the OTE earning potential. Yes you can definitely earn over £40,000 in your first year, if you are lucky enough to be on an excellent project and willing to work a lot longer than you are paid for, and most importantly the lucky 1/10,000 that has this opportunity. But from speaking with a lot of people cross teams if is practically unheard of for anyone to do this.

I worked at Progressive Digital Media full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    1. You can learn innovative ways to avoid work
    2. Will learn office politics very quickly
    3. Soon develop thick skin

    Cons

Cannot be finished. But here are the major ones:
    1. The HR will outright lie to you about package when they need to recruit you. They will talk about your package and bonus separately, even though they will include it in the salary. HR will tell you that average hike is 10% minimum, but at the time of appraisal, you will not get more than 3-3.5% hike.

    2. Management treats everyone like dogs. Most of senior managers are coming from similar backgrounds so have not learnt anything better, in terms of behavior.

    3. Everyone in the management wants to show off their skills. So, policies and work style will keep on changing every few months.

    4. Strike system - if you do not reach office by 9:15 AM, three such misses will deduct half day of your leave.

    5. Frequent churning. No job security and the company goes on splitting itself.

    6. Almost all non-office websites are blocked. Even yatra and IRCTC. If there is an emergency at home and one needs to buy ticket, it will not be possible.

    7. Management and HR create fake profiles in Glassdoor and Naukri to track whether employees are trying to get jobs outside.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is such a company that there cannot be any advice for the management.

    Pros

You learn to work against the odds

    Cons

No defined process, Decisions are taken per senior management whims and fancies. Most of the senior management in UK and India comprises of people who failed a successful running company. Will not hesitate to mis-sell a product or service to clients. Most of the data fudged and outdated

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. For it wont make any difference

    Pros

There are some good people working here
    Fairly chilled out
Good to gain entry level experience

    Cons

    Awful pay
No promotions - You want to progress your career here? Forget it.
    Long hours
    Management haven't got a clue
110% sales focussed - They don't care how you make a sale, as long as you do it.
Unethical - A customer overcharged for a product? No worries! Milk every penny we can!
Staff feel like just another cog in a stuttering machine
Many employees are demotivated - There is no interest on management looking to raise morale
    Zero benefits
Embarrassing business processes - This is supposed to be a 'big company'.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in and value your staff - They are your most important assets.

    Pros

You will learn a lot about sales techniques.
If you worked there for a few months recruiters will want you because they know you can survive at the harsh end

    Cons

    Sociopathic management style
People arent people just a sales figure
Ive never worked in a place like it, its amazing for a Ftse company to be like this
    Dirty office

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in the products rather than just take the money and run.

    Pros

I like my work colleagues. Although using narcotics is promoted.
Teaches employees hard work, to lead source etc .
There is money to be made, but if managers don't like you, you won't make a thing.

    Cons

-no training given. Stand on your own 2 feet and pitch.
    -be aggressive as possible
    -narcotics and alcohol encouraged
-isolated if you don't fit in
    -disgusting work conditions
    -Hr department useless, everything goes.
-bullying used as a form of management strategy.
    -public humiliation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually help people rather than shooting them down. Was it because a lot of you were bullied as kids and need to show how big you are now?
More encouragement would lead to better results. The atmosphere is constantly tense, lighten up.

I worked at Progressive Digital Media full-time

    Pros

good balance work-life, some colleagues are nice, great potential (wrong hands), no bad place to start the career but no longer than a year

    Cons

No promotions, no pay rises (except for the top managers that at 5 clock are out of the office), no career, lies to employees, micromanagement, short sight in business, employees are treated like rubbish, if you have a problem at work there is no one to talk to because no one cares, bad organisation, lack of communication, slacker managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have meetings to build up decent products, talk to each others and treat good employees decently giving benefits and money and not just making money for yourself as top managers earn a fortune keeping the employees on minimum wages !

No HR department, no internal communications
    Noisy, crowded office
No clue what people actually do
