    Pros

The best part of being a claims adjuster at Progressive is your team. Everyone understands the daily stress and everyone is always willing to pitch in and help you.

    Cons

The worst part of being a claims adjuster at Progressive is the workload. Daily exposure assignment is higher than it should be, yet, you're expected to get everything done in the same amount of time you would complete your normal workload. Of course, if you don't care about spending time with your family, you can work tons of overtime.

    Pros

Great teammates. Good company overall. Helpful in many ways. Decent pay. Chance to work from home (which I did). Gainshare is nice at the end of the year.

    Cons

Very stressful job and the company only makes it more stressful by not understanding that we can't solve every customers problem. It's a call center so expect to be busy. No real help on how to handle irate customers and Management isn't really there to help you with these customers. The company is now very micromanage which only adds to the stress. It's claims so unfortunately there is never a black or white answer. It's always gray.

    Advice to Management

Please understand you are dealing with employees who are stressed out and try your best to understand and help them with their stress. Hire more people but please advise them this is a very stressful job so they understanding what they are getting into. Don't trick employees to get into claims by having them sit down with an employe who is excelling at the job to make you think it's an easy job (that's how they got me). Also, if an employee wants to go back to his/her prior position, please don't stop them and advise they have to stay in claims or leave the company.

    Pros

Some of the poeple, small contests where you can win cash prizes, gift card etc. Gym on site and over all nice atmosphere.

    Cons

All they care about is meeting your sales goals. Be warned if you accept a blingual job...that means it will ONLY be in spanish. The emphasis on the sales make it a stressful environment.

    Advice to Management

Being realistic in the sales numbers would make it less stressful and would take so much pressure off the agents.

    Pros

Gain share is good at the end of the year. Good benefits, medical center on grounds along with a fitness center. Salary is OK.

    Cons

Very aggressive company when it comes to marketing. Too much of it, even when your at work. They have banners of Flo hanging every where with some type of marketing concept and card board figurines of Flo in almost corner of the buildings. Very high expectations of the Customer Service Rep. Progressive keeps adding on more metric goals for the reps to meet on a monthly basis and if you do not meet your monthly metrics, you get coached, warned then out the door. Very difficult to apply with in. If you are in Policy Services, then you are stuck in your position, very little room for growth unless you apply with in their corporate office in Cleveland OH. No team work. Even the Policy Service Managers don't even take phone calls when you have 400 or more calls in the queue everyday. The training was a joke. You would read most of the day, self pace, and at times the trainers will go over some material, but they are there most of the time to make sure you are at your desk reading and not falling asleep. Stay healthy. If you get sick or if you have any medical problems durring your time with Progressive, your manager may still write you up and you will still get an occurrence. Very high turn over. You may see your cubicle partner one day and then the next they are gone. They either got fired or they got a better opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Your all about team work. Then proof it. Get on the phones and help your team to answer the high volume of calls that come through everyday. Progressive is all about retaining customers and policies. You need to start retaining your good employees. Just because its a call center is no excuse of why there should be a high turn over. Stop the waste of money on the internal marketing. Its enough when you get home and you see the Progressive commercials on TV, radio and internet you have to see it constantly at work. Value your employees more. Its great at times you recognize the hard work that they do, but there has to be another way besides food.
