Good pay and benefits, but not a friendly environment for moms

GI Technical Sales Representative (Former Employee)

Proshigh level of intellect amongst employees, independent work environment, minimal meetings, good pay and benefits

Conslarge territories, gossipy management, not a good environment for working moms, too many reports

Advice to Senior ManagementReps talk to each other, even once they leave the company, so be careful talking behind people's backs. Don't discriminate against working moms or moms-to-be.

Changes Coming - New CEO is Here (Lisa A Miller)

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe new CEO started last year and is looking to push more responsibility at the Executive and upper management levels which is sorely needed. In addition, the home company is pushing the project management systems that make sense.

My hope is that these changes will improve the culture and send the company in the right direction. I am hopeful.

With all the changes, there will be opportunities to learn and contribute.

ConsHeadcount is tight so anyone working in the busier departments can expect pressure. Previously company objectives were set without any assessment of the bodies needed to ro complete it on time.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe consistent with what you say you are going to do.

    Welcome to the Grind

    Sales (Current Employee)

    ProsFlexible schedule.
    Good tests.
May have good things in the pipeline.
Have some great employees, although a lot are leaving!!

ConsCompany is in the second year of not making goal, because they are unrealistic and do not understand the healthcare environment.
Have over priced good tests, so it is not available to a lot of patients and has reduced clinical utility because of high costs.
No manage care leverage with products.
    Do not care about employees.
    No strategic plan.

Advice to Senior ManagementReduce cost of tests, get realistic goals, and care about your employees and patients.
Get a good direction and stick to it, feels like upper management has not plan.

    Searching for the common goal

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsLocation.
Benefits continually upgraded based on employee input.
Flexible work hours and generous overtime policy.

ConsThe lack of a company wide feeling of working towards a common goal. There is no mission statement, at least that can be easily found. Many employees seem to be there just putting in their time to get paid. I don't see a lot of enthusiasm or excitement about being a Prometheus employee.
The company is growing and getting more people hired to cope with increased workload doesn't seem to be keeping up.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo work together more cohesively as a team since there's a perception that two-way communicating isn't happening.

Unprofessional, ruthless for the most part. The good people don't last there.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThere are some very talented, seasoned professionals onboard. Unforunately, they don't stay around very long. The executive leadership changes often, making the entire organization unstable. On the positive side, a brilliant group of scientists are onboard, and with the recent acquisition by Hershey, great things are sure to come.

ConsAs with many companies these days, there just isn't tme or money to invest in employee development, conitnued education and career growth. That is very much the case here, making this company, for many people, a dead end job.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest time, effort and resources into the employees to build a stronger company from the roots and up. Efforts put forth to develop the team will pay off and build an organization of inspired team players.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
