I have been working at Promise Healthcare part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Since I have started working here "patient care" has been instilled and constantly drilled from day one. The staff works as a team and everyone, for the most part helps each other out.

    Cons

The hospital still uses paper charting and is I believe working on using using EMR (Electronic Medical Records).

I worked at Promise Healthcare (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked in the back very little patient interaction. Quiet office close to a bathroom and water fountain. Peers and manager were very fun and engaging to work with.

    Cons

Management does not provide very clear direction, everyone is given tasks outside of the job description they signed up for.

    Advice to Management

hire a couple more people though I understand the budget constraints work weed out those that are not performing at 100%

I worked at Promise Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The varying patients and acuities allotted for an excellent learning experience and most of the staff was very pleasant to work with.

    Cons

They were always understaffed and you were always over worked. The patient acuity was high and your assignments never reflected the acuity of the patients you were caring for.

I worked at Promise Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of feedback, support and encouragement voiced by management in corporate office

    Cons

Very, very little follow up or follow through from corporate on everything from outdated software and bill paying to upgrading a delapidated building. Census and revenue greatly affected bu this without any actions taken from the corporate side. Left long time employees scrambling for ways to make changes with the old systems still in places. Resignations across numerous departments followed. Many vendors left unpaid for months on end.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the management staff, long-time employees on site and realistic concerns about management of the building and resources.

    Pros

I learn new things everyday. I work with some of the best nurses I have ever worked with. I get to utilize my full capabilities as a nurse while sharpening my critical thinking skills using several different scenarios in just one shift!

    Cons

Some nurses are so incompetent I wouldn't allow them to pet sit for me. It is a constant struggle to regularlyrics have the basic supplies need to best complete my job. The company has not moved to computerized records, when doing so would greatly improve time management. Staffing could be more organized.

    Advice to Management

Do not utilize agency so much.
