Great place to do great work

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCulture, collegiality, great work, brilliant lawyers. There is excellent in-house training that can help you start your legal career on a solid foundation. I feel the firm really goes out of its way to support associates and make them feel appreciated. The quality of work is also fantastic, great clients to work for. Very prestigious.

ConsLike most AmLaw 100 firms, the hours can be long at times, but all worth it!

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great place to work but long hours

Associate (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsSmart people, great staff, brilliant partners

Consvery long hours, expected to be available 24/7. basically same pros/cons of lots of other law firms. whether they care about about personal life depends on who you are working for. your entire work experience really depends on who you are working for. someone working for one partner on one case could have an entirely different experience than another partner on another case.

A Great Place to Work in IT!

Senior Desktop Support Engineer (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsThey used to have excellent management for their various IT groups. One in particular (WQ) was brilliant, and held the place together because of his extensive knowledge.

ConsThey brought in some new management who micro-managed. That takes people's focus from their tasks, to watching over their shoulders, and never is a good thing for the firm.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind people who respect their subordinates, and nurture, or coach, for better performance. Treat employees with kindness.
You can manage by fear, by love, and by respect. If you manage by fear, you will never get the other two and those two - love and respect - are what makes a department run smoothly.

    Lawyer -- Associate

Associate (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsCompared to other Big Law firms, Proskauer Rose has some of the best people. People do care about your personal life and try to respect your vacation time (to the extent possible).

ConsProskauer Rose is still Big Law. Proskauer is a 24/7 law firm. Unfortunately, that means your weekend can get blown up. Dinner plans are always "tentative". Your significant other might not understand your schedule.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a flex-time lawyer position where a lawyer can take a reduced roll but still be part of the Proskauer community.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
