I worked at Prospect Park Alliance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Gem of a park and wonderful mission. Offices are located throughout the Park which makes it pleasurable to have a stroll on a sunny day.

    Cons

Senior staff believes staff is incompetent and outsources tens of thousands of dollars to consultations, when that money can be used to train and give appropriate raises to those who deserve it. Some haven't had a raise in over 5 - 7 years. They think a simple pat on the back will pay your bills. All senior staff are compensated well but not the "unsenior staff."

    Advice to Management

Create a better work environment, pay fair wages, and remember Brooklyn is a diverse community so cater to all demographics.

I worked at Prospect Park Alliance as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Staff, talented and wanting to make things happen. The staff pulled out all the stops during two major storms,

    Cons

Tries to cater to Brownstone Brooklyn. Multiple moving parts of the organization, some are ignored at the expense of the other. The park has a variety of users.

    Advice to Management

A sense of clear strategy for all the moving parts. Allow individual parts to fundraise separately for specific projects.
