    Large Company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsIf you are driven and have creative ideas you will usually be involved in some of the more interesting discussions.

ConsIt is what you make of it and if you don't get out and network with people and try to understand the company as a whole you will just be a number.

EPIC Credentialed Trainer for Multiple Go-Lives

Epic Credentialed Trainer Clin Docs (Current Employee)
    Renton, WA

ProsCompassion and ethical behavior are practiced by most on a day to day basis. My direct manager was great. Caring, principled and smart.

ConsLack of planning and forward thinking by management consistently ends up in major disruption to the lives of the trainers who have been on the road teach EPIC for 2.5 years.

Upper management lied to us on a couple of occasions. During the interview I was offered full travel expenses. After being hired I was told I would not get meals reimbursed. ( I had specifically asked about this during the interview.) They had to change this after HR pointed out that we were hourly employees and certain laws applied to us.... but it took a couple of months. They offered us the opportunity to apply full time positions, giving a salary range. Then after we apply, and are interviewed they tell us that we will come in at the bottom of the range. That felt like a bait and switch. I was not the only one who subsequently turned down the offer even though I was offered a promotion with it.

Advice to Senior ManagementApply some good project management principles to your planning going forward.

Excellent company with a great culture

    Nursing Center (Current Employee)
    Mount Angel, OR

ProsGreat Benefits, competitive pay, room for advancement.

ConsStaffing shortages with a high rate of turnover for lower level employees requiring a lot of agency workers who are do not care about the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire extra employees for call or part-time to keep agency out and morale up among Providence employees. It is difficult to take advantage of PTO if there is no coverage. Caregiver burnout could be prevented if ongterm staff was allowed to take their PTO

Health Care provider transitioning to new applications.

    Systems Analyst III (Former Employee)
    Portland, OR

ProsFairly stable environment compared to other industries.

ConsComes off as being a moral company due to it's religious foundation. But in reality it's like any corporation, it's just there to make money.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think there is an attempt by upper management to communicate with lower levels of the staff. But the communication really flows downwards, not upwards.
