    Pros

Competitive pay, great benefits, opportunities for advancement, good work life balance, enjoyable working environment, hard work is valued, not a lot of turnover

    Cons

Some may find it difficult to advance as the competition is very high, but it's a good challenge to have.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice for management at this time. Continue to share the overal strategy to all employees.

I have been working at Prudential Annuities Life Assurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, higher tuition reimbursement than other companies, work at home capabilities. Easy to take PTO and at short notice.

    Cons

Call center environment. Strict and unreasonable metrics. Too much micromanagement. Port communication amongst management and departments when trying to handle cases. Very low pay. The Dresher office is just processing so don't expect to get growth to a position with real responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Make better use of the talent you have and recognize it. People will leave due to ineffective operational rules in place. Have all managers in the call center follow the same guidelines so everyone is treated fairly.

    Pros

Lots of employees benefits. they pay for school and medical etc

    Cons

Smile and dial. I've never felt like a number more than I've ever felt than when I worked here. Also you are 100% commission. There is a 94% washout rate

    Advice to Management

Don't lie during recruitment. It's a sales job. Sales sales sales. You are your Number. Nothing more.

I worked at Prudential Annuities Life Assurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Can make decent money. Good benefits employee match and low health care costs.

    Cons

Very much who you know, Very controlling... Will not tell you you did a good job, ever...

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to control all aspects of employee life. Hire competent management...Some managers not competent at all... Hires have been promoted with only basic knowledge of life let alone finance... Offices given to incompetents only to fire them later because basic functions of supervisory role could not be performed...

  9. Customer service representative

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

The company is very focused on a work life balance. Once you have put your time in you have the ability to work remotely and have a flexible schedule. There are many incentive programs and opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

There is an extreme focus on the customer and on metrics. Some of the metrics that are used to measure performance can be unreasonable. There is a larger level of middle management presents that can make the job a little difficult.

  10. Lack employee commitment. too much politics and big egos.

I worked at Prudential Annuities Life Assurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large company, with wide range of financial products and service which is great for the clients. Some department area's offer summer hours if you can compress 40 work hours into 4 days. However, you must be on call.

    Cons

Too many egos get in the way of getting work done. Nearly impossible to manage upwards. Feathers get ruffled very easily.

    Advice to Management

Come out of the office and really meet the employees of the company. These are the people doing the work for Prudential often forgotten because they're not in management.

I worked at Prudential Annuities Life Assurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

Pay is not good and they like to give you the illusion of opportunities being available to you but its not really the case. They are hiring overseas like crazy and its just a matter of time before that position is eliminated.
