I worked at Prudential plc full-time

    Pros

Flexible employer who is fair but demands their pound of flesh. Good staff relations and excellent benefits.

    Cons

It can be very political at senior levels and is a lot more ruthless at these levels. Heavily regulated which can be frustrating at times.

    Advice to Management

remove some of the politics. Encourage people to do the best for the company not what is just right for them.

    Pros

Westernized management style, flexible and with aim to serve business depts well. Regional office is expanding

    Cons

Pretend to encourage internal mobility but not the reality. In Asia countries are silo, not really willing to groom talents with a common goal

I worked at Prudential plc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good development condition for career path and profession. Friendly environment. Acceptable package + benefits.

    Cons

I feel the leadership is somewhat more conservative than future oriented.

    Advice to Management

Please put more emphasis toward rapid social economical and technological transition because the company is running in quite traditional ways.

I have been working at Prudential plc full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Study from managers' experience, self - study, pressure to improve. Good benefit for employee.

    Cons

Less collaboration, restructure many times in short period, someone work hard but someone lazy and push their accountability to others.

I worked at Prudential plc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Company to work for as it does recognize work/life balance. Flexibility, benefits, work-life balance, co-workers, first line management, training, employee development,

    Cons

lack of promotional opportunites, failure to advance, higher management seemed disconnected, sales force driven, Management seemed a bit aloof

    Advice to Management

Listen to your down stream employees

    Pros

Leading player in Asia - huge variety in market development/opportunities/challenges as Prudential has insurance and funds businesses in 12-13 markets, from Middle East, through to developing markets like Vietnam and mature markets like Korea and Hong Kong. There are also JVs with major financial groups in China and India. Opportunities for a wide range of market/business experience

    Cons

Politics and frequent re-organisations. Some markets/functions have very talented and inspiring leaders/staff, but others are consumed by politics. Office can be very clique-y and gossipy. Also, expected to be on call 24-hours (though this depends on team/boss)

    Advice to Management

More objective and constructive advice and help with career. Right now, it is hard to generalise the experience because it seems like it really varies by department. Maybe more accountability for senior management would create a fairer and more inclusive environment overall.

  9. A very employee-centric company with high levels of integrity and also values.

    Pros

The treatment of the staff by the HR is excellent and a good demonstration of it's caring ethos towards the staff though the same cannot be said of the management of the company.

    Cons

Long working hours and a very demanding place - which at times may compromise your work-life balance. The compensation may be fair but the bonus payout leaves much to be desired.

    Advice to Management

Relook at the ratio of male-female workforce - this may yet impact on the overall morale of the staff, particularly those on the mid management side.

    Pros

Good pay, hassle free work environment, office politics not much tolerated.

    Cons

Micromanaging senior management team, who pretends to know it all.

    Advice to Management

    Trust your middle managers more.
