Pros
The people, the loyalty, the benefits and so on. I feel like this is a great place to work but can be challenging at times.
Cons
Management and management decisions are fishy and not well spoken. Communication is not the company's strong suit and I wish there can be more done.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen and don't lie.
Pros
Easy Work, Very little supervision
Cons
Poor communication, never seen so many unhappy employees
Advice to Senior Management
Get everyone on the same page
Pros
benefits are good, feeling of family.
Cons
needs better communication between management and staff
Advice to Senior Management
Listen and communicate more effectively
Pros
Flexible Hours, good benefits, provided you work 1500 hours per year minimum. credit union, stable employment are the main points. Also the ability to transfer to a store closer to your house or school, etc.. Ability to purchase private stock in company. Publix has a very good open door policy, to talk with management.
Cons
This is recent: very tight on hours, as a part time employee, my hours are down. More expected multi-tasking, which is getting away from customer service. Managers are really overtaxed working minimum 50 hr week, + overtime if another manager is on vacation, plan for a 60 hr week!
Advice to Senior Management
More employees are needed at the store level, specifically for customer service. I actually talked with in person the CEO Mr Crenshaw, He really appreciates hard work and does in store visits on a regular basis.
Pros
I love the awesome working environment. Everyone is very nice and helpful and the customers are usually very nice. The benefits are really good for the position.
Cons
Sometimes the hours are difficult but the managers are very understanding of requested days off.
Advice to Senior Management
Always be open to employee questions/concerns. Reward for good work done.
Pros
awesome benefits for full timers, great managers and schedule.
Cons
as a cashier you have to be on your feet the whole time (as expected) that is the only con i can think of.
Advice to Senior Management
the leadership was great.
Pros
They were very nice and flexible on scheduling. Great, vibrate enviroment. Good management with lots of experience. Great place to work.
Cons
Late closing hours... not that great when you have a child. Always on your feet no matter what job!! That's about it.
Advice to Senior Management
Maybe the company should think about paying more, and requiring less hours for benefits for full time employees, they make it hard to get health care.
Pros
401k match; Free stock; Quarterly bonus; holiday bonus
Cons
No set schedule; Low Pay
Advice to Senior Management
Back the associates better.
Pros
Some pros are thery have good benefits and flexible scheduling.
Cons
Make sure to follow their policies.
Advice to Senior Management
Some managers are great, some are just jerks.
Pros
If your upbeat and pretty, you will move up in Publix fast. I've gotten the highest raises and I'm one of the youngest employees. It can be very challanging and rewarding to work for publix.
Cons
Some of the customers are rude and obnoxious. You have to push to sell money for charities and it's really a hassle and makes me uncomfortable. It can be so busy, and easy to give people extra or too little change and when your short they do not put up with it. Many of the men at publix are creeps. I've had to go to my managers multiple times to have them take care of situations that I haven't been comfortable in.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep it casual and supportive. Just knowing people in the store and interacting makes you less scary and more approachable. There is a lot that goes on in your store that you should really know about but people don't want to tell you because their scared of you.
