    Pros

Very positive environment. Pulte encourages it's employees to grow within the company and to climb the ladder.

    Cons

The company has struggled in recent years with the fall out of the housing market. They have had to lay off many talented employees. Hopefully that will change and they will grow again.

I have been working at Pulte Homes full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great culture and atmosphere at Home Office! Amazing group of employees that all started in the Shared Services. Culture is something many companies are not able to easily obtain and this group had it going right!

    Cons

The company is moving to Atlanta and losing a lot of good talent. I am sure they will get up and running but the experience and knowledge will take time to rebuild once again. The culture will take years, if not a decade to restore! There are a lot of systems and knowing how to maneuver and work them is a skill in itself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay in MI and recognize the talent and culture you are losing.

I have been working at Pulte Homes full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good people, decent pay, and good severance when they have layoffs.

    Cons

Senior management is out of touch. They care too much about their own compensating that they pass over lower employees' cost of living and performance bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget what it is like to be in the trenches.

I have been working at Pulte Homes

    Pros

Good company with a strong culture. People seem to stick around for many years. Homebuilding is finally recovering.

    Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for upward mobility as people tend to stick around for years.

I have been working at Pulte Homes full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Nothing at PulteGroup tends to stand still for long, so if you embrace change, you will like it here.

    Cons

The home building market is cyclical and hit record lows in recent years. It was necessary to lay off many talented employees who contributed greatly to the success of the Pulte Homes, Del Webb and Centex brands.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As the cycle ramps back up, remember all the seasoned employees who were laid off during the Great Recession. These people can hit the ground running during the rebound and contribute strongly to volume/margin growth objectives.
