Current Employee - Senior Engineer in Site (Ghana)

I have been working at Punj Lloyd full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1) At sites there will be good exposure
    2) High work pressure
    3) Good learning curve, ( Given you are self motivated )

    Cons

1)Poor management - Employee satisfaction least bothered
2)Ill qualified managers ( mostly they are diploma holders ), that in turn effects in doing or executing the work in same conventional methods - No assessment of work done, No refining of the system
3)No value given to your educational qualification. ( they don't even bother if you do your degree from a premier institution )
4)No proper site level Planning department, planning dept is only cornered to send Daily project reports.
5)worst internal auditing , Very causal attitude towards auditing
    4) least bothered about hierarchy ( that's really hurting and de-moralising for any employee )

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1) Should refine the middle management staff , please get in staff, some one who can motivate and get the best in a employee ( subordinates)
    2) A strict auditing is must
    3) Planning department should be totally revamped, A strict role play should be given to it

Former Employee - Project Planing Engineer in Singapore (Singapore)
Former Employee - Project Planing Engineer in Singapore (Singapore)

I worked at Punj Lloyd full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It gives a good learning experience. Due to lack of good technically trained staff, if you take initiative and responsibility, you get to learn on the job. Picked up great Project Management skills.

    Cons

CORRUPTION RIDDEN ORGANIZATION - GOING THROUGH FINANCIAL CRISIS. There is no responsibility taking senior staff and very weak and unstructured Admin/HR, coz the only thing on their mind is how to make your life worse. You don't get ahead by performance, rather if you have more contacts in management, you will get a higher salary and promoted. So its all about licking the feet of people in power just like a political party.

This has led to uneven work salaries and extremely low motivation levels and thus numerous projects have gone into losses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in fresh new people and clean your organization of old non competent people. Infuse more money and pay market level salaries. HR/Admin should introduce a performance related incentive and also give roles/duties/positions according to levels of education and experience.

    Neutral Outlook
