    Pros

-positive people -great benefits -flexible hours -you get to eat chocolate I am a full time student, and am just using this as a part time job to get through school. it has been perfect fit for my lifestyle

    Cons

hard to stay motivated. not very much opportunity to move up in the company. many stores are more than willing to make other stores look bad also.. great deal of competition

    Advice to Management

management seems very distant. they do not make very much of an effort to see how things are going at store level and are only concerned when stores do not meet target.

I have been working at Purdy's Chocolates part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment! We sell chocolate, so you don't get a lot of negative costumers. The training is the best training I have ever received from a retail job. They made sure you understood the product before stepping onto the sales floor.

    Cons

If you don't like working with costumers this is not the job for you. Very costumer orientated

I worked at Purdy's Chocolates (Less than a year)

    Pros

With my old upper management they listened, were flexible, kept everything confidential and it was a great place to work

    Cons

With new management and upper management everything has become horrible. They talk way too much nonsense to other managers which gets around very quickly. New management was keeping us there to run her store and then was going to fire us,mans she told other managers who kindly told us. The expectations were ridiculous for the pay. The new heads of the company and upper management didn't listen to anything anyone had to say, were aggressive, and talked about what was wrong with a store to everyone but that store. With the way new management and head office is running things, it's horrible. I honestly would not suggest working there unless you like to be treated like a dog and deal with full grown adults acting like children.

    Advice to Management

Don't talk about a stores problems to another manager and team instead of the store your having issues with. Also, when you hire new managers for locations don't hire people who tell everything that you say and do to everyone. Especially when they tell people about your inappropriate relationships. This is not how you run a company, your running a daycare and it is ridiculous. At one point it was a great company and one I cared for and believed in, now it's a joke and all your employees (staff and management in store) think so. This is why your having problems. Treat your employees, at all levels, with respect.

I worked at Purdy's Chocolates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Product discount 30%, only have to work 1 Sunday a month as a manager and 2 sat, sick time and vac time start at 3 weeks.

    Cons

There is not a person who works within this organization that cares anymore about the people. They use you. Never listen to you. Head office judges before asking. Makes pre judgements. Dm talk about other managers to other managers. Lacks real professionalism. Company should stop saying they care about the people as all they care of the is the sales and want a bunch of yes men to work for them.

    Advice to Management

Learn some how to be professional. This is to upper management not shop managers.

    - Free tastings - Friendly customers - Gain chocolate knowledge - 30% Discounts for employees - Develop or enhance multi-tasking skills - Develop gift wrapping skills

    Cons

    - Disorganized Management - Always touting 'business of the year' yet has no full time employees except management - Overstaffed - offering few hours - Expect high standards with low pay - Business model is an extreme pyramid with lots at the bottom with very little room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Ease up on your stringent expectations for $10hr.
