    Restructure, Restructure and Restructure!!

Regional Sales Manager (Former Employee) Mississauga, ON (Canada)

ProsPurolator is training and providing skillset to make individuals extremely successful in their future careers outside of the company. On the manager side, they teach people how not to treat others. When individuals leave they know how it feels to be disrespected and learn never to make others feel that way.

ConsSome are compensated well for their roles, and others are cheated on base pay/bonus; depends on how much you know and who your direct manager is. You can only receive a good performance review if you direct manager "likes you". There is a lot of talk about people, yet the reality is everyone is treated as a number. When you're number is up you are restructured; internally anyone with over 10 years of seniority knows they don't have much time left. Not if, but when you are restructured, at first you feel sorry for yourself and angry; then you feel great that you're no longer there and terrible for the good people "whom are left behind".

Advice to Senior ManagementTop management needs to open their eyes/ears to what is really happing under their departments direct reports. Things start on the 6th floor but by the time it reaches middle-management the messages changes to front-line managers. Many of the middle manager has ego issues and everyone knows it. Keep good people, your people are your foundation and restructure all the senior staff is wrong and unethical!

    Always moving

Unit Manager Operations (Former Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsDecent benefits, solid brand, respected company. There are some really dedicated people in the company who want to see their people succeed.

ConsLots of restructuring and changes during the last couple years that made everyone virtually paranoid. Hopefully things will settle down because it makes for a toxic work environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou have very loyal employees who put in long hours to achieve goals despite a lack sound leadership support. No matter how much they give, it's never enough. Some call it "fit".

    A good Canadian company

Inside Sales (Former Employee) Mississauga, ON (Canada)

ProsGood benefits, nice office space, great vacation, friendly employees. They hire quite a bit from within and train for positions, fun annual sales meetings.

ConsIf you want to move up in sales, start setting the pace right away. You may need to interview several times to get promoted.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen people make obvious repeated efforts to go above and beyond what's required to improve the company and ways we do things, find ways to compensate them and recognize them with new opportunities... or resentment sets in.
