Current Employee – been working at PwC
Pros – Top tier firm, flexibility in schedule, and ample opportunity for self-starters
Cons – Large footprint, so one must be able to network to connect
Advice to Senior Management – Focus more on top performers - they drive the business and likely are willing to give more to the company

Former Employee – worked at PwC
Pros – Everyone that I worked with was extremely encouraging and gave me real, honest feedback about my performance as an intern.
Cons – The compensation for post-graudate employment is dissapointing. I felt that interns were treated better than entry level employees which makes me skeptical to work there after I graduate.
Advice to Senior Management – I would recommend that PWC leadership strongly consider re-evaluating how much they are compensating their entry level employees. I know many candidates who considered turning down the job for that reason solely.

Former Employee – worked at PwC
Pros – It has good pay average 20-30 an hour as an intern. Work can be very boring, you pretty much sit down and work with paper all day
Cons – like i said Work can be very boring, you pretty much sit down and work with paper all day. co-worker are uptight and cold.
Advice to Senior Management – nothing much they can do, accounting is a boring subject to work with. I doubt they can do much to change

Current Employee – been working at PwC
Pros – Great place for career development. If you can figure out how to network and get the attention of folks across lines of service you can really learn a lot.
Cons – Brutal hours at times and salary freezes make worker drones sad pandas. Impossible to tell if politics or HR determines promotions and raises.
Advice to Senior Management – Figure out a way to take care of people before the economy turns. When it does it is going to be a race among the big 4 for top talent.

Current Employee – been working at PwC
Pros – Flexibility and perks if you are traveling. A lot of freedom to work from home if needed. A lot of opportunities to move around.
Cons – Long hours, and stress level is a crap shoot depending on who your manager is. Can be great some days, can be really difficult.
Advice to Senior Management – Encourage managers to be more understanding and better teachers to the new kids. It is a tough environment to be in right out of college.

Current Employee – been working at PwC
Pros – - Generally nice and smart people
- Decent number of vacation days
- Plenty of technical and other resources
- Pushes you to learn how to manage your workload (prioritizing, saying "no," delegating)
Cons – - Low pay in early years as compared to industry
- Requires sacrifice of personal life on a regular basis
Advice to Senior Management – - Adjust compensation of senior associates to better match industry salaries at least for high performers.
- Give opportunities to proactive people to grow professionally and shine. With regular overtime hours, one would need a mixture of decent salary and continuous learning experience to stay motivated.

Current Employee – been working at PwC
Pros – Large firm with spread out expertise that can be relied on. Many colleagues are helpful when asking for guidance/help with previous similar experiences when pitching to clients.
Cons – Advisory plays second fiddle to Tax and Audit. The firm is too acquisition hungry to the detriment of both audit and the consultancy.
Advice to Senior Management – Become a consultancy and not just an implementation house. Don't oversell the firm, we're not competitors to McKinsey no matter how many times you may say it.

Former Employee – worked at PwC
Pros – Great internal training/information readily available on intranet. Shared services are great. Good people (for the most part)
Cons – Huge political game being played. People are labeled as troublemakers early on in their employment and then ignored. Review process incredibly anonymous - I just want to talk to someone about the work I did, not hear back from my manager who talked to the person presenting my case before a panel of people not identified to me.
Advice to Senior Management – Fix the review process - allow some human interaction and don't play favorites in the office

Former Employee – worked at PwC
Pros – At one time it was a great place develop and grow into what you wanted to become. You own your own career (at all levels) and you have to understand that constantly. You will work along side a number of very smart and capable people and see many different organizations and industries.
Cons – The company has lost it's way in the recent economic downturn - it has created a place where 'what have you done for me lately' attitude prevails through out. Additionally, the approach to growing the Advisory practice is one that is confused and not well articulated to the internal practice. HR needs to be streamlined, there are more people in a HR function than there were 5 years ago but less support.
Advice to Senior Management – Look back to the past and what worked when you were successful. The company has morphed into fiefdoms that need to be torn down and 'national' exposure/practices need to be reestablished. Take care of your top performers and they will help lead you out of the current mess.

Current Employee – been working at PwC
Pros – Good pay and benefits package. Their coach coachee system sounds good on paper.
Work with really smart people and have fun in teams
Cons – Work life balance is non existent and some of the projects can be extremely, mind numbingly boring - expectations from sr. management are very high
Advice to Senior Management – Take time to nurture the best jr. employees as those are the ones who you want to stick around. Natural selection
