Current Employee – been working at PwC full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – The company had a strong focus on training and development, and the UK supports your qualification (ACA through the graduate route) financially and for time off.
Cons – First year's salary had not changed much (if at all) for about 5 years, the only pay increase you get is through going up the grades. The company encourages you to recoup more for 'additional efforts' from the clients but you generally don't get a share of these unless you are part of the senior management.
Advice to Senior Management – Start addressing pay as an issue rather than avoiding them by talking about 'overall package' and 'people's experience' during annual reviews.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – Great colleagues and good work environment. Fantastic learning opportunities. Good as a launching pad to industry or other consulting firms.

Current Employee – been working at PwC as an intern for less than a year
Pros – - Mature, free environment. It will suit souls who relish freedom in an office environment. You take control of your work and time.
- Although most accountants look rather gloomy, they are generally nice people. Of 4 supervisors, 3 have been mostly patient and nice towards the temps. The other is also nice, but may be a little impatient. Isn't really a con since it is all down to individuals.
- Occasional events boost staff morale
- People are generally in smiles away from work, but serious and focussed when needed to
- People are also generally good looking, if that helps. lol.
- OT pays are high thus they often enforce that we leave on time. Yay work life balance! (even most regular staff do leave strict, and it is a good sight, really)
Cons – - Relative to KPMG, I heard the temps there actually get to do basic accounting jobs after going through a week of training. Here in PwC we handle strictly admin work (low-high level).
- Came across some office politics and i was rather shocked. Albeit only one incident, for them to speak ill of their colleague in front of a temp comes across as rather demoralising. Then again, which office doesn't play its politics?
Advice to Senior Management – Can do more to open up to staff. Yes office hours are for work, but a little socialising in the office makes for a whole lot of productivity.

Former Employee – worked at PwC full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – You need experience at a public firm in order to get your CA and make a ton of friends in the process. PwC people seem to be more social and "fun" than other big firms (at least in this city).
Cons – Huge workload and lots of (unpaid) overtime. Can be extremely stressful at times, but I guess that's the price you pay for attaining a CA.
