I worked at PwC as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Projects included work with other PwC colleagues fom around the world as well as stakeholders from clients, NGOs and academia. High chance to be hired directly from the internship if you perfom well.

    Cons

Sometimes excessively long working hours and working on weekends to meet project deadlines. The reason behind this was often inconsistency in the demands and guidelines by senior staff.

    Advice to Management

Pre- and post-acquisition communication and integration of new businesses often seems to be insufficient at PwC especially when vastly different company cultures and related elements (e.g. compensation) meet. Management could improve upon this point.

    Pros

Learned a lot in this fast paced environment

    Cons

not enough support provided, junior staff are completely accountable whereas senior management shrugs off responsability and accountability to junior staff

    Advice to Management

value your junior staff and be more accountable and transparent about your actions

    Pros

Good colleagues, fair pay and benefits, Big 4, definite work-life balance

    Cons

There are no real cons to speak of, though opportunity for mobility between intern and permanent staff are few.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support values of work-life balance and Kaffeestunde, and I think you'll continue to have an eager, world-class staff!

    Pros

Had a great experience. The team was young and engaged, I had interesting tasks, and learned a lot. Work-life balance was also great, with most days ending between 7 and 8.

    Cons

There can be days when there is little to do and you just have to sit off time. Also, the experience depends a lot on your specific team and or mentor. It's a good idea to judge whether or not you should do this job by the people you are being interviewed by.

    Advice to Management

    Be a little more engaged with interns, or at least learn their names. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
