I worked at PwC full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

great compensation, outstanding benefits, and some of the most amazing people. firm who is well known for developing over achievers and grooming employees to succeed outside of the firm

    Cons

    1) limited growth potential inside IFS.
    2) UNPROFESSIONAL HR Manager for IFS - puts their personal opinions over facts, including perpetuating the rumor mill - creates a highly toxic environment.
    3) absolutely NO work/life balance. they preach, but don't practice

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

look at the recurring issues and research, pinpoint, and take action on the actual problem person. listen to those who are on the ground and closest to the situation.

    Pros

PwC is a very large company that does everything from strategy to operations. At PwC, you can just about every type of role advising clients in the Advisory Practice. Solid benefits such as unlimited sick leave, 22 days of vacation, etc.

    Cons

Very risk adverse being a audit firm. Very hierarchal. Your position defines what you can do, your role, and the types of opportunities you get. If you are willing to move up the corporate ladder this is good for you. Expect to work long hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the hierarchal approach to management.

    Pros

Variety of experience that one can gain. Great exposure to different businesses and networking.

    Cons

Have to always work. Flexibility is only a word and does not really exist nomatter how much the partners try to preach it. Some people get rated highly simply because they go to happy hours with senior management. Compensation is low for the amount of work we do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put yourself in other's shoes more.
