I have been working at PwC as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great place to start my career because there is a lot of information to learn.
    Great work environment.
    Casual Fridays is awesome!
As an intern you will receive help from co-workers, and also you will be able to participate in events.

    Cons

    - A lot of hours
    - For a company that wastes so much money, I find a little offensive that they do not pay for employees parking which could cost about $300 per month.
    - I like public accounting unfortunately the hours are always long, and in a company like PwC you are expected to work weekends sometimes.

A good employer, but requires too much of its employees.

I have been working at PwC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very good employer, good benefits, high level of knowledge at all levels, opportunity to work in global projects, and culturally diverse.

    Cons

It requires long hours; you end up working 50 to 60 hours a week for a regular salary (low salary if we take into consideration all the stress, responsibility and hours devoted to the work). The environment is very demanding; you end up living only to work. If you have a family you will have to put work first, projects are demanding and usually need immediate assistance, (so it can mean working until very late, weekends, etc...) . It has an employee review process that is very strict and you are being compared to people who work 70 and 80 hours a week, so even if you work 50 you will still look like if you did not put enough effort. You actually feel like a machine, forget about your personal life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work/life balance is not really true; it is a place full of workaholics.

    I worked at PwC

    Pros

It is a place to be proud of and everyone recognizes the name. Many companies hiring look for big four experience.

    Cons

There are a lot of long hours. It is hard to maintain work-life balance, even though leadership gives it their best effort. It's just a tough industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you are doing and coming up with good ideas to make PwC a great place to work.

I have been working at PwC

    Pros

prestige of company, resume gold, great learning experience, high standards, independence, flexibility as needed

    Cons

busy-season feels like a jail sentence (but that is big 4), reviews can be subjective...it's who you know...

I have been working at PwC

    Pros

Name recognition. If you have PwC on your resume, you are pretty much golden in the market place. The longer you stay and take the abuse, the more you make in the long run.

    Cons

The abuse, the hours, not being appreciated for all of the hard work that you put in. It becomes expected that you will not have a life during large periods throughout the year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire appropriately. HR should not be surprised when people leave in the summer / early fall since it happens EVERY year. Hire a few extra for once so that we aren't killing ourselves and can actually have that "work / life balance" that you keep on touting.

    Pros

    *Looks great on resume
    *Learning every day
*Surrounded by very smart and professional people
    * Mobility
    *A lot of training
    * Fully paid Backer CPA course plus bonus if passed

    Cons

*Work, work, work and no life at all. Firm has no respect for personal life, expect you work 25 hours a day
*Compensation is very low compare to hours and work we do
