I have been working at PwC

    Pros

I think that the training offered at PwC is very in depth and offer great experiences to learn and expand on your knowledge. I also think that there is a big push to work on flexibility and the new strategies are starting to become more accepted. The teaming within the offices that I have worked in are great and it makes some of the long hours more bearable.

    Cons

I think the work/life balance still needs a lot of work. There is a big push for the people to be constantly busy and with non-standard busy seasons the hours add up quickly. I think the vacation and holidays that are given are great when you actually have the time to use it. I believe that you can either push utilization or budget but not both as that is an impossible battle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that the biggest issue is work/life balance. I understand that this is big 4 accounting and that you will be required to work many hours but I think it would be best to be upfront with the people as to what the "real" expectations are for total hours.

    Pros

10/10, firm is all about growing and development. Your coworkers will stress the importance of this and genuinely want you to grow

    Cons

no real cons here honestly. The thing is anywhere you go that is as well-paying and prestigious as PwC, hours are going to be long. But this is offset by flex fridays and other programs they put in place to give you some free time off work during the offseasons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Return the fast-track promotion systems, you've decentivized the bottom totem pole to grow and excel.

I have been working at PwC

    Pros

Great training, and you get wonderful experience with a lot of exposure to upper level management early on in your career. Wonderful place to start out, not sure if I would stay long term

    Cons

Little work - life balance, people tend to work late, work weekends because it is part of the culture and not necessarily because there is work that needs to get done.

    I worked at PwC

    Pros

Respectable company that will allow you to build your resume and your experiences out of college. Promotions and salaries increase regularly and allow for growth.

    Cons

Long hours and little respect for personal flexibility. The compensation when compared to the amount of hours that are worked (100 hour weeks) is not competitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more opportunities to compensate employees for the time and effort they put in. Allow flexibility with personal obligations.

    Pros

Really enjoy working here. Work hard for a few months, take it easy for the rest. When you work hard they still treat you right. PwC does things well and treats their employees with respect.

    Cons

Nothing comes to my mind at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open up that free-flexible express promotion again. Like the way it used to be. Leveling up should not necessarily be about how much time we spend here, but even moreso about how well we learn and advance. It can be uninspiring.
