    Pros

Really smart, competent people that challenges you. Good training, great place to start your career. You get exposure to challenging transactions and can learn a lot. They are trying to change the way they evaluate people, but this will be the first year and I'm not sure how effective it will be.

    Cons

Long hours! Despite their efforts to make this the best place to work, the efforts are not consistent. Career development is not their priority, unless you are one of the "chosen" ones - you need a mentor or you won't get anywhere. Also, they care more about the people that started since the beginning in NY than people transferring from other offices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about people's career progression and don't throw them to clients just to fill the immediate needs.

Great Company. Plenty of room to grow professionally and work with many different asset types. Very structured in promotion policy, so its easy to understand where you stand.

    Cons

Long hours, but not as long as other groups within the company. Everyone within the group respects your personal obligations and allows for flexibility.

    Pros

Great Corporate Culture, Intelligent colleagues who have the drive to expand their knowledge and expertise. The firm is very supportive about continuing education and professional development ( aka they will $ponser you).

    Cons

At times you are too busy to take advantage of some of the perks ( e.g. training, volunteering, Happy Hour).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When promoting Work/Life balance, be more realistic in your expectations. Much of the flexibility that is offered can only be taken advantage of by Senior Management ( i.e. friday's off, sabbaticals, 1/2 days).

    Pros

The company has grown with many acquisitions over the past few years. PwC has a great reputation. People work together as a team. The advisory business continues to grow. Company is very progressive and willing to change and try new things to improve..

    Cons

Bonus is terrible for the amount of hours you work. Expect 7-9% bonus for above avg rated and 2-3% if avg rated. The 401K match is which is terrible (~1.5%). Don't expect much work life balance b/c the client is always first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Partners are terrible in responding to staff unless it is client related and most don't show appreciation for their staff who bust their butts on engagements.

    Pros

Partners care but not enough. Lots of opportunities to work hard and do more. They allow for flexibility but it's different based on who you work with. Not much to say.

    Cons

Partners are too busy to care to look at the details. They leave all the details to managers, and there are a lot of inefficient managers. The firm itself is very stressful, requires long hours, and flexibility is great, but not everybody gets the same flexibility. You also get penalized for taking the flexibility. There are family relationships all over the firm. Everybody is related to someone. That is how people get ahead. If you don't have relatives at pac and you are not young, forget about it. Hard to manage a family, have a life and be above 35 at this firm unless you are a director or partner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't pigeon hole people. PWC is all about brand. If one person says anything bad about someone else. Their reputation is ruined. if one person is a shining star, they can mess up all the time and nobody cares.
