I worked at PwC as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great people, great company with really caring people who work to make sure you are happy in your position and who will work hard to help move you around if you want to. Very easy to transfer to different locations if you need to move as well. Flex time in the summer is great and working a little extra Monday-Thuraday with Friday off is very common.

    Cons

The hours during busy season are very long a taxing. Depending on your team members you could be working until midnight or 3am during some weeks. While flexibility is encouraged it's impossible to implement during busy season.

I have been working at PwC full-time

    Pros

Top notch training. Huge variety of projects and people to keep things interesting. Looks great on a resume.

    Cons

From what I've heard lower pay than some of the other big 4. Hours get crazy. Very little interest in what you are interested in or want to do, they just need bodies to do the work. A lot of people tend to be slightly abrasive or talk down to you whether intentional or not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate your employees a bit more and stop trying to squeeze the most amount of work out of the fewest number of people (won't happen though).

I worked at PwC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There's no experience right out of college than a Big 4 Firm. Great place to put in your time, provides limitless opportunities in the industry. It's a fun place to work - the people are awesome and there are usually lots of fun activities/teambuilding (when you have time to attend).

    Cons

Work/life balance sucks. Utliization targets are set ridiculously high based on all of the extracurriculars you are expected to participate in (community service, affinity groups, etc.).

I worked at PwC full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Programs readily available for learning more about the business and personal growth.

    Cons

On occasion, work-life balance can be a challenge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to "ask" the staff about client demands and expectations as you have in town hall meetings. Refocus on your administrative support and their value to the overall operation.

I have been working at PwC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great place to quickly learn a company's operations, accounting guidance, and to develop leadership and communication skills

    Cons

Very little work/life balance in a high pressure environment; often not rewarded for hard work, compensation is not the best; very high turnover

I have been working at PwC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The culture is excellent, the work is constantly changing and challenging and there is excellent opportunity for growth. The company is also great about flexibility such as working from home some days, taking off early during non peak seasons etc.

    Cons

Obviously, the public accounting aspect makes for extremely long hours during busy season. However, hard work is paid off in the form of flexibility during non peak bonuses and performance based bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to realize that the people are the main resource; treating them well and rewarding them for hard work will ensure PwC continues to be one of the most respected consulting firms in the world.
