I have been working at PwC full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Still trying to figure this out

    Cons

Fear based performance metrics, anyone in management has only worked within the firm so they completely lack perspective. Average age is 21 so that totally sucks too...who want to build a network full of millennials.

    Pros

Steep learning curve, gain a lot of experience in the industry, makes you marketable for other jobs, ability to be early promoted if you can navigate the system

    Cons

Some months there is no work life balance. Sometimes clients may be fr from where you live so you might be commuting for a long time. Also the office is full of politics.

I worked at PwC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

If you take the initiative, you can generally seek out the type of work and projects you most enjoy

    Cons

male-dominated culture; access to some high-profile clients seems to be confined to the "boys-club"; associates and seniors are hired in with the knowledge that PwC will just grind them down and burn them out--PwC should be honest about the fact that long-term career potential won't exist for the majority of the young staff it hires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think it is inappropriate the way that PwC will continue to try to shape who ends up at which clients after we have resigned from PwC. There seem to be a lot of "off the record" conversations which are very unseemly.

    Pros

Resume builder, swift push into the real world out of college.

    Cons

Breadth of technical development, but cookie-cutter corporate culture is not friendly to creativity

I have been working at PwC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    * Exposure to variety of technical issues
    * High profile clients
    * Decent salary, but note also that your hourly wages (net) will be $16 during busy times

    Cons

    * Cookie cutter mentality: not very adept at giving you tasks that play to your strengths, and in fact I think there is an attitude that everyone should have to "suffer" a bit in order to play on the team - ie, intentionally denying you opportunities to use your strengths.
    * Burn-out is high b/c staff is seen as highly dispensable
    * Associates are not eligible for end of year bonuses

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * Practice what you preach: enforce flexibility
    * Give associates end of year bonuses, in order to retain talent

I have been working at PwC full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

PwC offers a variety of opportunities within the firm - client facing and internal. As you are looking for new challenges, you can easily find new opportunities in the Firm that will push you and challenge you in new ways. People are great and they make it so much more of an enjoyable experience. Firm provides great flexibility that (I have been told) you can't easily find in the industry.

    Cons

Hours during busy season can be challenging especially when trying to accommodate family and kids. Regulatory landscape is constantly changing and, while the Firm provides lots of training, auditing is not what it used to be.

I worked at PwC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Well known company; good résumé builder; high level exposure.

    Cons

High level administrative leaders employ coordinators that cannot do the work they are handing to the admins to do. They do not listen to process improvements and overload you with work. If you do not finish your work they question everything you did. I documented everything and was hailed one if the strongest on the team, however, the coordinator would never recognize my contributions. Truly a great place but staffed with the wrong coordinators.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the right people in there. Embarrassing to PwC culture to see this go on for so long.

    Cons

    (Very) risk adverse

Make it a cool culture (eg like Google)
