    Pros

    Cons

The pay is so undermarket for this area, I live with roommates, drive an old car and STILL struggle to buy groceries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay a living wage! This is impossible to show up to work while I am so hungry!

    Pros

great work opportunities as the brand gets great opportunities

    Cons

very political and no respect for true subject matter expertise or consulting capability. Most promotions are for people who do project administration type of of work. These are all in the consulting practice.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

show the values of a professional services firm and remove arrogance at high level.

I have been working at PwC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunities to work on areas that would take someone going directly into the industry from school a while before they would get exposure. Lots of recruiting to big 4 companies, easily marketable. PwC is probably the best public company out there. I work in San Jose, so we get exposure to neat companies.

    Cons

Low salaries for what you contribute and the overtime you typically incur, and its not just for new associates. Basically, everyone but the partners are underpaid by a mile, but all big 4 are like this. Partners often too concerned about their budget that they give little attention to the money makers behind the budget. Big company, big office, lots of politics. "Diversity" rules the office, company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your employees.

    Pros

PwC has a fast-paced work environment - if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. They hire the best and brightest, no matter what package they come in. Training is first-rate and plentiful.

    Cons

PwC's business model tends to heavily leverage young talent. There is a high level of turnover amongst young staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Access to clients through IEPs tends to be somewhat restricted. Even access to IEPs to present ideas tends to be a little difficult. There needs to be a better process for getting new ideas to clients.

I worked at PwC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Strong training and development, career opportunities, alumni involvement, brand recognition, constant learning, daily challenges and growth. Stay on top of current issues and be a thought leader. Grow your network exponentially.

    Cons

Long hours, nights, weekends, holidays... whatever is needed to get the job done and ensure client satisfaction. Difficult to make work-life balance and get the most out of the opportunities available. Easy to get buried in your work unless you are mindful about setting boundaries with yourself and others.

I have been working at PwC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you like variety, PwC is the place to be. You have a great number of opportunities in both audit and advisory roles, and if you challenge yourself, you can grow your career here.

    Cons

With so much field work, it is often difficult to forge relationships within the firm itself. A lot of the firm initiatives tend to be underserved due to this, things like the coaching/buddy system. Also, the hours are as challenging as one would imagine (but most managers and above do more than pay lip service to firm Flexibility).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Someone within each market really needs to take a lead role in building better intra-office communication and ensuring that firm initiatives are being handled in a more meaningful way. Also, if you're going to invest so much time and energy in new products like Spark, there needs to be a more effective strategy for getting firm members to learn and utilize the,.
