    I worked at PwC

    Pros

Great week! Lovely hotel and friendly team.
Great exposure to partners and other senior staff.
Great opportunity to progress to summer internship.

    Cons

    Too short.
They don't tell you in advance there will be an assessment centre during the spring week, so make sure you practise in advance!
    Unpaid.

    Cons

Hours especially at certain times of the year. Some fairly mind numbing work at times. Being away from home

I have been working at PwC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits.
Good progression up to Manager level (a lot harder after so I guess that will be a con after).
Good culture. People are friendly and helpful.
    Excellent career prospects.

    Cons

Exam failures = dismissal therefore no job security until qualification.
Work life balance is not the best.
    No pay for overtime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Look into paying overtime.
Look at ways to improve work life balance.
Look at ways to improve flexibility across moving to other departments.

    Pros

You can gain a lot of experience in various industries. Good working environment. The company supports internal mobility so it is easy to "change jobs" without actually leaving the firm.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be difficult. Promotion process is long and ambiguous, different criterial used in different parts of the business

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

career path should be clear and transparent so employees know what their part of the deal is

I worked at PwC as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

very respected as an accounting firm
feedback, when available, is generally comprehensive.

    Cons

Did not like the culture at all and overall was an exceptionally poor experience. Lack of diversity (at the branch I was at in any case) was really frustrating + noticed that there was little room for people to be "different" ie. everyone drank, went on nights out together often- if you preferred not to engage in such activities you would feel very left out. Work was very tedious (I went in with an open mind but accounting is indeed as boring as the stereotype goes!), was not given enough responsibility even after flagging up the fact that I was sitting around with no tasks to do numerous times. Resulted in me having to sit around doing nothing for hours on end, right in front of my manager itself who didn't seem to care!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When one gives feedback or requests work, it appears to not be taken into account. Flagged up issues on several occasions, none were resolved.

    Pros

    Variety of work
    Opportunities to learn
Flexible approach to the working day and ability to work from home
    Relatively fast progression

    Cons

    Work-life balance
Industry jobs will pay more for the grade you're at
    Stressful
Completing work early is rewarded with more work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's a very successful company - management know what they're doing.
