I worked at Pyramid Research full-time

    Pros

If you are motivated and can solve your own challenges you can earn senior management respect quickly and stand out International culture and teams Provided H1B support (when I was there) Everyone on the analyst team is interested in the work

    Cons

Some days can be long (but not too different than other research jobs) Turnover was sometimes very high but the work still had to get done Pay plans were less clear when I was there

    Pros

Always an opportunity to get more responsibility Diverse work environment H1B/T1 friendly Exposure to high profile companies. Way to get your name out there You are on your own for pretty much everything. This may not be a plus to everybody. Industry is changing. May be a good fit if you get the right wave. Company overrates biz development skills.

    Cons

The company has a serious communication problem. It is awful for such a small enterprise. You are underpaid unless you are one of the Director dinosaurs still out there. Worse if you are under visa...senior management is not clear with regards to bonus structure (this may be intentional) and you are stuck. Forget about asking them for development. Low potential for growth Industry as a whole is at risk. Google is killing syndicated research companies. Low growth. Morale is always low. Limited collaboration among peers. Everybody is always swamped with heavy workload. Management could not care less about execution. Despite being visa sponsor friendly, company is not ready to handle foreign workforce. High employee turnover.

    Advice to Management

Communicate! Bring fresh blood to senior management. Be clear about compensation. Encourage top talent with development and $! Reconsider a deep strategic planning for growth opportunities. Be fresh! Great HR asset in the company that you. Get rid of under performers.
